Hi I try to order an alternator Denso 101211-7780 for my 550. I tried to order the alternator from an US company. They offered worldwide shipping at the website but it's not possible to order shipping to germany at the checkout procedure. Now i asked them to ship worldwide, and waiting for an answer. If this is not possible, can anybody help me to get the alternator to germany ? Payment will be transferred by me with shipping address to anybody's US address and the to me. Daniel

Daniel, I'm assuming English isn't your first language, but the wording in that advertisement implies that the alternator is NOT genuine Denso, but an aftermarket, Denso "style" alternator. This is a nice way of saying it's a Chinese knockoff. Since it'll probably cost you as much or more in shipping, as the price of the goods, you may want to consider going for a "real" Denso. I would expect a genuine article to cost around 2x that price, possibly more. If you're already aware of what you're buying and are OK with it, my apologies for butting in, but many non anglophones, and even some native English speakers are fooled by the creative wording in adverts such as this. The clue is always the price - if it looks too good to be true, then it's not genuine.
Hi John Many thanks for the tipp. You are right, i didn't saw/understood this. You saved me Money and Trouble !!!! Thanks. Can anyone tell me, where i get a original Denso, not the original Ferrari 100211-6492 but an original 101211-7780 which works fine like some guys here said ? I can't find a source here in europe. Oh, there is no hurry, still winter and snow here in Germany. Daniel
Mine is working, but i have a bearing noise from alternator or compressor. Compressor is leaking too, so i decided to buy a new one. Compressor is here, ready for installing. In that step, i want to change the alternator also, so i can rebuild mine with new bearings and have a second in stock. Daniel
Both compressors and alternators are rebuildable and there are quality sources out there that do it. Both are quite a bit more economical than purchasing replacements. That alternator should be an easy one to have done locally. If the outer casing is still presentable, then have it done. It should last a lifetime. No need for spares...
Searched at google, but i can't find an original 101211-7780. Seems that all offers are copies. Found this https://www.therobson.com/product/290-10218/&rel=ds&q=101211-7780 I wrote an email to the dealer with the question if this is an original Denso. I will see. If the linked alternator is an original rebuilded Denso, do i have to change the regulator ? Johnny, seems that rebuilding my own alternator is the only way. Daniel
Hi Now i found an original Denso 101211-7780 here in Europe. Cost 530 €, about 640 $. Does anybody know, if the electronic regulator has to be changed, or can i use the alternator without changing anything ? Daniel
Daniel, our alternators use a Transpo IN-220E regulator, which are available here: IN220E Voltage Regulator for Nippondenso ( Denso ) type Alternators - S-IG-L Terminals, A-Circuit, 14.5 Volt Set Point, as well as many places in Europe, I'm sure. I would try the alternator "as is" first, and see if the ECU's throw any codes. If they're not happy with the new model, then change the regulator. Note, Transpo have several different configurations of this regulator. Here's a brief explanation of the differences: IN-220E:......Two wire round connection, 14.5v setpoint IN-220SE:....One wire, round connection, self exciting, 14.5v setpoint IN-220SEA:..One wire, round connection, self exciting, adjustable setpoint
Hello I bought a new REAL DENSO alternator for my 456m to Cannes F dealer for about 750euros an i hope it will last sixteen years like the when new at the factory. Why I bought a genuine one ? Because two rebuilt valeo and hella in 1400 km were failing on my BMW m3 last months Poor quality of electrical components .The warranty was ok but i did 300km with the flat truck so it s better to get genuine Denso alternators versus rebuilt ones👏👏👏👏
Daniel, if you get stuck again, let me know. Since I am in Japan and Denso is a Japanese firm, maybe I can source one for you. Not sure if it is cost effective but at least it would be an option for you. You can communicate by posting here or by my email address under my informations. w/ smiles Jimmy
Correction: the IN-220E has a 3 wire, round plug. Some alternators use only 2 of the 3 wires, but our setup uses all 3.
I using the John Deere alternator with a soft start regulator. Can't remember the number of the regulator.
Pretty sure this is the one, other threads say the regulator is a Transpo IN220E: Amazon.com: ALTERNATOR JOHN DEERE MARINE ENGINE 101211-7780: Automotive
I now see that these online options are all knockoffs. Wonder if any are of sufficient quality? Any idea what the real McCoy costs at a John Deere dealer? I just did a rebuild of my Denso generator here in Luxembourg EU for €270 + 17% tax. This is the OEM generator with new parts and electrical components inside, I guess the rebuild or the refurbishment is a good solution for this part, for a reasonable price. A much better solution than a Chinese fake.
I tried to save a few bucks but what I think I got was a crappy Chinese part. This part failed at Cavallino 2015, necessitating a 140 mile tow home. I bit the bullet and paid 900 bucks for a Ferrari OEM one with a two year warranty. No problem since. Scott
So did i😉 Like i said on page 1 of this topic i prefered original which last so many years than bad replica products..
