    does anyone here have or had alternator issues with a 360CH, if so how was the issue rectified?

    Most of the time, the engine ground strap has a poor connection or the alternator itself.

    attach a good ground lead to the alternator and see if that fixes it. also check the alternator connections.

    Jim, its more to do with overheating of the alternator, they tend to melt internally.........we are thinking of running a vent from the engine lid straight down to the alternator as we have done with the F1 pump.

    The car is used for Tarmac Rallying hence it sits in a queue most of the time just idling away and with the pan under the car no air can get it it plus the fact that the alternator sits directly under the header doesnt help

    Windings also tend to come undone from high rpm centrepetal force. We use custom fabricated oversize pulley in 7071 Aluminum to reduce maximum rpm. So far no more problems. Side benefit is a little bit of weight saving and less hp loss.
