and today I was absolutely smitten. I'm 24 and drive a lowly Sentra SE-R (going to grad school in order to attain what you guys have already earned) but today I was in awe. See I live in a wealthy little pocket of SW Pa, and its got a very nice Ferrari population. My neighbor behind me has a black 355 Spyder, and two guys that live up the street from me have a 360 Stradale and a Spyder with the Challenge grill inserts.

I love seeing these cars on the road, but never have a chance to hear them step on it. Well today I was pulling in to my neighborhood like usual, when a brand new F430 Spyder comes rolling up to the stop sign. I was in awe, it was such a beautiful car. Well I pull over on to the shoulder and just wait. As expected the 430 pulls out, but the man must have been watching me...because he got on the gas for a brief moment. OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MY!!! It was so brief, but so beautiful at the same time. I have never heard a car like that. I could only imagine if he would have stayed in it. You guys are very lucky to have that kind of machinery in your stable.

The point of this thread is I wanted to say thank you to all the cool exotic owners out there. You know who you are, the guys who let us look at your cars, answer our questions, or just get on it now and again so someone else can share in the aural sensation. You guys make being an auto enthusiast and enjoyable experience, and me along with others sincerely appreciate it when you do that. Heck, I'm now an active member of this forum thanks to what I just experienced today. Mr. F430, if you post on here...thanks again for making my whole week!

Almost the exact same thing happened to me the last day.
Now, we don't see Ferrari's that usual here in Denmark, but when this beautiful F430 stopped at the filling station, I was, exactly like you, totally speechless.

The owner, though, wasn't very nice - gave me a cross "stop that" look when i was photographing the very nice car.

Great day anyway, got my blood-circulation going :)

Don't feel bad He probably was a drug dealer and did'nt want his picture taken! I think we can all remember back when.... when we were climbing our way up and all we had were our dreams and wishes! I know for me there were a few awsome car people out there that let me take pictures, sit in their car or even gave me a ride! WOW! talk about fueling a fire!! that! is what got me through school!! Now! my dreams have come true and I give back when ever the time arrives! I promote this wonderful lucky life I have been given! It is a blessing which can be taken away or lost! My mantra is: BE HUMBLE, BE KIND!!

Thanks for posting, you will find many of us on the board here to be true car enthusiasts and not stuck up Ferrari owners.

I don't own a Ferrari, but I hope to have my first within the next 5 years.

I've owned 5 cars so far, including 2 that I currently own. The latest one is my 2nd Mercedes: a 2007 SLK.

I love the car, but am working hard to get a bigger stable in future: one that includes a "low end" Ferrari such as the F430, or its future successor.

The first time I actually knew about the name of a Ferrari while playing the Ferrari simulator from Sega: Ferrari F355 Challenge.

I've been reading about the history of the Dino and the 308/328/348 cars leading up to the 355 and the 360, and now the F430. Never have I been so excited about the possibility of owning a Ferrari in the future.

Realistically, I think my first Ferrari will be a pre-owned F430 within the next 5 years, maybe less. I'm usually achieved my financial goals earlier than planned. :)

To be honest...they are around constantly on nice days, as it's almost getting "common" to see one (the F430 I mentioned really got me going because it wasn't a 360 or 355). From what I can tell, the guys take them up and down East McMurray Road and Route 19 Saturdays and Sundays, and them promptly tuck them back away. I NEVER see them on weekdays, just the weekends. You will see them in packs usually two or three, and save for the blue challenge stradale and the black 355 , all the 360s are red spyders. Although the only variance in them is some have body colored taillight surrounds, while the others have a black housing. But yet, like I mentioned they are caught in our traffic, or just going at a snails pace so I never get to hear the noise.

I used to work at Three Rivers VW, good choice on the ride btw! DSG or six speed???

oops, typo.... Obviously I meant "I've usually..."

Anyway, it's great to see that Ferrari drivers aren't all Ferrari snobs! :)
