Anyone care to comment on the DB9's reliability? Anything to watch out for if picking up a used one?

    Regards,
    Chris

We have a 2006 DB 9 Volante. It is a beautiful car as you know and a blast to drive in "F1" mode. Boring as an automatic. Magnificant exhaust sounds. It is a bit hard to get out of due to the wide door sills and it has an annoying electronic tone that is audible when you lift the accelerator at low speeds. You can't hear it at highway speeds but it is prominant at low speeds. Our dealer has pursued this sqawk for us and the factory tells him that they all make this noise. The service manager says he has driven several in stock units and that they do make this noise. Those are the only knocks on an otherwise spectacular car.

i know that topgear has bascially said that the db9 is a better car than the vanquish and much better than the db7, which they called "a jag with a different front." there's a good video on youtube of them racing a db9 against a train, in which they give nothing but praise for the car.

    car is hot
    makes you feel special BUT...

steering wheel shudders at low speed
air con does not cope in very hot climates
    can squeek
    wipers are horrid
make sure the car came with a cigar pack or you get no 12V charger in the cabin for phone etc...

quick car though and a beautiful exhaust.
if you can put up with it, its lovely
