Sorry, the shroud did not come off.

Monday - Faith Formation classes for the kids and the wife also teaches one so no time for me to work.

Tuesday - Soccer practice for the kids.

Wednesday - Yard work b/c of the twins Birthday (today!).

    Thursday - Twins Birthday.

Friday - ??? dont' know, maybe then.

Saturday - Soccer game and actual party for twins b-day.

    Sunday - maybe then.

Sorry, been busy this week at home and work. I'll try to get it on Saturday evening.

That fuse block guy wants to come over and see my car some time this week. He converted his AC system to one like mine and bought parts from our buddy Steve at Carr auto.

The 355/308...the estemed and respected salesman on this thread claims to have a 355 engined 308 AND a 360 engined 308 and is probably going to "drop in" a V-12 to another one...wonders never cease...

but to follow his tag line "Post a PICK" ... "put up or SHUT UP" and I'm still confused about why I upset that no one's offered to buy my car when it's not even for sale!

JRV got mine in overnight, but the $$$$ just drove me further down.....

I appreciate your help on the shroud, that's another 'good deed' that's gonna blow up in my face soon.......

    Big "powder burned" Tex

No kidding, skipping lunch to show him my car, time on the phone or at the office, checking on keys...turn signal wiring...I had HOURS in with him........I'm just amazed......

Tell him Pinnacle Motorsports does a GREAT job adjusting those doors! LOL!

    For MONEY!!!!!!

358 Update: Car is running and driving. Presently, brake upgrades are being made (8piston brembos front/355mm vented/drilled discs; 4 piston brembo rear, 355 mm/vented drilled discs). Once the brakes are done the car will be repainted and rear fenders flared slighty. Custom wheels are being made to accommodate 245/40/18 front and 335mm /18" rear tires. A shortcoming of the 308 is their seats. The QV seats feature a gorgeous trim pattern but are hard and not terribly comfortable. So, modifying 360 seats to fit in the car. That’s the present status of the 358.

And yes, there is serious consideration to installing a 512M motor in a 308 chassis. The motor/trans assembly has already been placed in the car for a test fit. I'm looking for the right motor/trans at the moment. 512TR or M or a Testarossa motor for cheap since it will be rebuilt with high compression pistons, etc.

This is fun. Pushing the envelope, having a pretty 308 that can spank a 360 (430 is a whole different beast).

Question: Who on this Forum really believes that if Enzo were alive today, and if the only car he could drive was the 308, that he would not be modifying the crap out of it to make it go faster!
I've read posts where people say Ferraris aren't supposed to go fast (by today's standards) or worry about competing with the $25k-$30k WRX, Evo or even a Saturn or Chevy Cobolt. That driving a Ferrari is just about how it feels and how people look at you on the road or at the petrol station.

What is the truth here? Honestly, do people own and drive (hopefully) their 308/328 because its a pretty little show piece? Personally, part of the "feel" I like is the shove in my back when I put the pedal to the metal of my 512TR and wish my 308 had that kind of umph! What an intoxicating feeling as the world rushes by at warp speed and your pressed into the seat as the nose of the car rises with each upshift!

So, is it wrong to modify these cars, as some claim?
Or, would Enzo himself modify a 308 if that was the car he had to drive?

IMO, the Ferrari crowd is generally characterized by the public at large as flashy show-offs. Now, if we drive our cars just because they draw attention then I guess that is what we are. However, if we drive our Ferraris because they are fast, have razor sharp handling and stop on a dime (or at least we want to make them that way) and we enjoy the speed, in addition to the classic lines, then the public is dead wrong on its perception.

Speed freaks are just that. They always want to go faster. Surely this is a quality possessed by all the legendary drivers, Moss, Hill, Brabham, Fangio, Nuvolari. These are the drivers who drove in the era that gave rise to Ferrari's present fame and mystique.

So what's the consensus on the 308/328? Appropriately modify to improve the breed or leave them as they were (e.g., 2valve/fuel injected cars zero -60 in 7.9 seconds [Car and Driver] or 9.4 sec. [Road & Track]?)

Guys just for the Australian record $US50-55k is the average price you would pay for a 308,US$70-80k is what you would generally pay for a 328,US$105-120k for a 348.So you guys have got it lucky, but I think your services may cost more.I here you guys more or less pay US15k for a 308 engine rebuild where we would pay about US$11k.I also paid about $1900 for a major service including, belts, carb rebuild, distributor rebuild, valve clearances checked and adjusted and all fluids service. This is not by a dealer but by a dedicated F shop.We also pay about US$3.20 a gallon for petrol

I have no horse in this race, but I can tell you I have been to Black Horse Motors several times and have seen the 308 with the 355 motor and a 308/GTO conversion that I'm told by one of the mechanics is for a larger ferrari motor. Both cars are Tristam Buckley's. I'm not a personal friend of Tristam, I just like to see what Carl's shop is up to. That 308 /355 has been there for a long time and I always look to see how it's progressing when I go there.

At the risk of bringing this thread back from the dead, I just noticed that the latest car on eBay is not the same one that ExcelsiorZ got so much grief over. The first car had a tan leather interior and four driving lights on the front and was listed with 30K miles. The second one is black inside with the correct Euro grill and 57K miles.

The pictures are taken in front of the same building and he put the same type wheels on the second car (or swapped rims with the first one before it sold). I'm amazed that he found two cars so similar.

The second car is now for sale in New York. Buy it now from ExcelsiorZ was $36,900, current seller wants $41,000. He is using ExcelsiorZ's original photos.
