I am considering a 1988 Lagonda Series 4 -- have not done the PPI yet but am told that it has been regularly driven and maintained. In pictures, it does look to be in excellent condition, but we shall see. Does anyone have personal experience with these cars? I"m not looking for commentary on the design or the earlier series cars, just what a Series 4 might be like to live with and what some of the issues are with the cars. Wouldn't be a daily driver -- something to play around with a few days a month.

If it has CRT displays on the instrument panel you will have trouble.

Ferrarichat probably isn't the best place to get an answer to your question.

Hop on over to the Aston Martin owners' forum at www.amoc.org. Not as active or entertaining as FChat, but you'll find no shortage of helpful information there, including an answer.

    Best,

Make sure you check the sills & front inner wings for corrosion, (They all rust), Check for cracking paint at the base of the A & C pillars, (Flex)...The Electronics are a pain but are not to bad if looked after, the touchpad buttons go fairly regularly but are cheap to replace. Apart from that, bullet proof engines and transmissions make these cars great drivers. Looks are a whole different conversation.

    Good luck,

    Argento

Excellent enthusiast site specifically for the Lagonda...

Best models are the late 87/88 with the original classic body, Marelli Fuel Injection, and the new instrument design(vacuum flourescent)....not many of these with the interim specifications...but in my opinion the one to have..

    Best Regards
