    ed, I am a fan of the 16m but I must say that the aston is the movie star of that group. beautifully spec'd. that car was a lovely package w/ the v-8 but a killer offer w/ the 12cyl!!!

    Edward, you are coming up to 2 years of ownership with the v12v and I am curious on your thoughts about the car, likes and dislikes, now you have owned it for a while. Love it still or bloom off the rose?

    Interesting you should ask.....
    I sold the car a few months ago and lost my shirt on the car.
    It's amazing how fleeting one can be with cars like women when dating. I was enamored with the car, and still feel that it had nice balance and torque.
    But the small quirks of the car , e.g. Fuel Lid door constantly being stuck, Emissions light coming on etc. started to wear on me.
    However, the worst part is that Aston kills the value of their own cars. The cars simply do not hold value. They are as bad as Maseratis. Part of this is due to the massive rebates and discounts they often offer which devalue the cars significantly. I essentially had to "give" my car away at a pretty surmountable loss. Lesson learned....don't buy an Aston new.

    Thanks, yes Edward, I know they can be financially sobering. A friend bought a v12 Aston new. Came with $60k of manufacturer incentive. I was shocked and could only imagine an owner's reaction if he bought the t-1 car before the allowance was introduced. I am guessing a $200+ new car became a $100k / sub-$100k car within 2 years.

    In the "misery loves company" category, I asked my pal which of the 15 or so cars he had boight new over the last 20 years or so had been the worst financially, expecting him to say the Aston. It wasn't.

    If you can look beyond the financial pain (?), how often did the car go into the shop for a problem to be addressed?

    That was the kicker. There were little things I had to keep taking it to the dealer for - fuel lid door stuck, emissions code, etc. grew very tiring.

    Slightly off topic, but does anyone know of the major differences between the 2011-12 (MT) V12V variants? I know there was a carbon black edition but don't know how the specs changed from the "base" model. For example, were CCBs standard or user spec'd or not an option. Same question for the magnaride shocks (which I know we're on at least some of the later, paddle-only "s" models).

    i got a new v12s a year ago......very fast and the sound is awesome.

    gearbox in auto is not good nor is the dashboard controls...everything is brilliant.

    you can hear mine coming for miles.
