It is really cool that here in Charlotte we have the two 365 GBT 4"s numbers 16553 and 16555. We are very honored the owners trust us to service and maintain them! And they appreciate our passion for these cars and our capabilities to provide this service.

For those not familiar with Ferrari chassis numbers of this vintage there is no 16554 as the even numbers were race cars and the odd for street use. No 16554 in this production run so these two were back to back.

    Love it!

...and it gets more crazy here in North Carolina. Bob Snow (@resnow ) and I were at VIR years ago discussing our individual 1990 348's and how similar they were (both built in July 1990) Turns out, and I'm not kidding.... we had consecutive numbered cars. If I remember correctly, mine was xxxx86426 and his xxx86425. Bonkers.

They will soon! One just acquired his the other has had his for 40 years and 100k miles. That one was also restored not long ago so it is still pristine.

The one that was just acquired came from a rather unfortunate situation --- it was from the estate of Fchatter Randy Gori.

Thanks Peter for the great pix. Daytonas are fantastic, true design icons!

I wouldn't really say they were born together or back to back.

16553 = Assembly #1027, Body #1166 and completed 13 June 1973 (originally Rosso Rubino 106-R-83). Delivered new to MCM Modern Classic Motors in Reno/NV.
16555 = Assembly #1065, Body #1180 and completed 18 June 1973 (originally Rosso Chiaro 20-R-190). Delivered new to Chinetti Motors in NY/NY.

Ferraris are not built in chassis number sequence.

Wednesday 13 June 1973, the same day when Daytona 16553 was completed, two other Daytonas were also completed: 16709 (Assembly #1077) and 16711 (Assembly #1097).
Also completed that same day was a 365 GT4 2+2 Coupé Pininfarina with chassis #17199, a RHD version for the UK, originally painted Argento 2.443.048.

Monday 18 June 1973, the same day when Daytona 16555 was completed, two other Daytonas were also completed: 16715 (Assembly #1117) and 16717 (Assembly #1086).

Thank you for adding more context. Your expertise and knowledge is always welcome and appreciated. Sharing the historical data you have is invaluable to those who share a passion for the vintage. I will pass on to the owners as they are owners who appreciate the history.
    Regards
    Peter
