AMD Athalon Socket A / 462 processors ?

    i have a Gigabyte GA-7N400-L motherboard, and i would like to upgrade my AMD Athalon XP 2800 processor for one last gasp of use from this system.

    i have tried Newegg, and Zipzoomfly, but i cannot locate any Socket A / 462 (453 PIN ) cpu's for sale anywhere in the USA. Ebay only shows these things available from overseas.

    anybody know where to get Barton / " performance " 3000+ or 3200 AMD CPU?

    any help would be GREAT! i know i need to get a new board with PCI express and Dual core, but i dont want to just yet, as this as been a reliable set up.

    HELP !!

    Bartons are $65 plus, but I didn't see any 3000+ ones.

    actually it will. the link you have has the exact CPU i am looking for in 3200+ , but its $275.00 !!!! arg !!!!

    i guess i am not the only one wanting to upgrade and older reliable system ! but for that money i can buy a new dual core Gigabyte MB and a decent cpu. i will keep looking.

    thank youvery much for the reply, as at least now i have some info and a choice! :)

    And if you want to upgrade to a high-end AGP VC, you better do it NOW, as they don't make them anymore, good ones, that is.

    i did that a few weeks ago, i also got some super duper platinum / heat synced ram. my board is maxed out, with the exception of the cpu. thanks. i am till looking to get another cpu.
