    This weekend was the Amelia Island Concours. This was my first time attending, and I was truly impressed. The quality of cars was amazing. This year, Johnny Rutherford was the honored personality. CanAm cars were also featured. The weather was perfect.

    The weekend began with an R&M auction, not typical of one of their auctions as this one had the class necessary for an event of this calibre. A beautiful Duesie sold for cheap, but a Cobra with history went for big money.

    Admission was only $45, the Ritz had a tent with a really great lunch for $10 (Palm Beach Concours, get a hint from a real event!!). You should arrive by 8AM on Sunday, if you hope to get in to photograph the cars before the masses arrive.

    I had a camera failure, so the photos are limited. As soon as I figure out how to download from my new digital camera I will add the photos of the Ferraris at the event.

    Thanks for the Beautiful pictures...and what a surprise. The FLY 348 Challenge is my car that I plan to drive over to Sebring this week, then for the Central Florida track day a few weeks latter (I love to drive my car!). Last year I took it on the Amelia Island Porsche Road Tour, in which Hurley Haywood drove us 185 MPH up and down the Navy air base in the Carrera GT.

    As for this years event, spectacular. Hearing the legends of CAN-AM speak, the stories, the humor, the first hand accounts from Jackie Oliver, Vic Elford, Hurley Haywood, Sam Posey, Jim Hall, Pete Lyons, George Follmer, Peter Bryant, Oscar Kovelski, Brian Redman, Bob Nagel, George Drolsom, Charlie Kemp Herbert Mueller, and a few others I have failed to mention-priceless. They all were good spirited, and seemed to apprciate the fans, signing autographs for all. Who's up for Sebring!

    Hey Carbon. These photos were with my trusty 1.3 megapixel Sony that uses a floppy disc. The same camera I used for the Cavallino thread. My new camera is 8.1 megapixels, but needs to be downloaded with a USB cable. I used it for the Ferrari and Bugatti photos.

    I am intimidated by the USB cable and the fact that I have to use a CD to download the program, so I can use the USB cable. I hate these new inventions. Its so much easier to view porno on the internet than downloading images from my new camera. That seems so wrong and unfair.

    Ron, this might be even more confusing, but you should look into a pc card reader instead of the usb cable. You pull out your memory card, slide it into the pc card adapter (like 10-50 bucks at most electronics or camera stores) and then it fits into your card slot on your PC, assuming you have a free one. Way faster and won't rely on your cam battery during the transfer. :)

    You can buy a USB card reader , plug it onto your pc on the USB "hole", then take the memory card off your 8.1 MP camera and insert it in the card reader . Normally, windows will automatically detect the new card reader and then you only need to double click on "my computer" , select removable disk , and copy and paste the folders with your pics.

    This is the car that has been advertised as THE prototype, and is to be auctioned later this year. It had something unusual in its appearance, at first glance it looked like a kit car. Not sure why it gave that impression.

    Great photo's! The only problem I have is the date. My cars are usually apart at this time of year so I keep missing it. Next year my Ferrari's should be all together by then so I really am going to make an effort to make it.

    Finally figured out this USB stuff, but then no one told me about resizing photos to fit!

    This is all I have the energy to post. Ferraris, Bugattis, Bizzarini, and Chaparral. Curous why there were no F1 cars, Ferraris or other.
