HRT F1 entry and assets being pursued by new Scorpion Racing - F1 news - AUTOSPORT.com Scorpion racing, who are apparently a American and Canadian group are doing the dilligence this week to purchase HRT. They're obviously looking at 2014 entry. The base will be Silverstone, so no US or north American based F1 team. I've never heard of them, anyone here hear of them.
Never heard of them but more to follow of course. Exciting if true and they show up on the grid. Lets hope they are better funded than HRT were.
Very interesting!.... A quick Google found 'em.... Seems to me they're almost perfectly equipped to take it on; All joking aside, it'd be interesting to know who's putting the money up.... Our old buddy from YouTube maybe? Cheers, Ian Welcome to Scorpion Racing!
Chad Hurley. I have no idea btw, just thinking aloud.... One assumes he's a little gun shy after the USF1 debacle..... Thinking more though, here's a *potential* press release from him; Cheers, Ian
I hope they can get some of that carbon fiber from Charlotte: it is the strongest according to the Speed clowns
More professional dreamers. Insert press conference with "We will win the championship in less than three years."
If customer cars were ever an option, that would be the only time I would be comfortable with an American company getting their hands dirty in modern F1. Unless for some reason Boeing, Lockheed, NASA, or the like decided to get involved, I don't think American investors for the most part can quite grasp the depth to which modern championship capable F1 machinery is designed, or the financial commitment required to cultivate the required knowledge.
They can't be that bright given their stated intention to buy the assets of HRT who as I recall were renowned for actually owning absolutely nothing
Me too. And I do have something funny to say. However, I cannot say it at this time. Maybe when I'm struck from a panel. Mark
No doubt! Did it ever catch fire? Or spontaneously ditch a wheel? We experienced both over the years.... Cheers, Ian
Lost both front wheels. On seperate occasions. Nothing like seeing your wheel pass you and disappear. Never had such trouble with the Fiat. Didn't start often enough for many misadventures.
God Bless them and their plan to enter a two year old HRT in 2014. I knew the rumour about the 147% rule had legs.
We lost, and were indeed passed by, one of the rear wheels. Comforting to know it could jettison any of 'em with impunity. No favorites there, it didn't care which it ditched!.... Cheers, Ian
I dunno, as I alluded to in my press release, they've got a whole season to do a '14 car. Nobody else can claim that..... 100% of their design team on the case..... Cheers, Ian
Bernard says no, apparently. Too late... Bernie Ecclestone says Scorpion deal too late for 2013 season - F1 news - AUTOSPORT.com
Indeed. But, I believe I read that he said if they get bought they've got an entry for 2014.... Value there. Cheers, Ian
It introduced oversteer into my wife to be's vocabulary. And a number of Anglo-Saxon locutions as well.
