AMG Driving Academy Basic Course

I was fortunate to participate in an AMG Driving Academy at Road America yesterday. It was a first class event and amazingly fun!

Here are some photos I took. During my track drive in the afternoon I reached about 135 MPH in a SLS AMG. We were fortunate that the class was not full, which meant more driving and instruction time. Overall this was a great course.

was Tommy Kendall there?

I saw this program at streets of willow a few months ago when I was at willow springs, looked like a lot of great cars and a really low group size/high student to instructor ratio.

and those gull wings are badass

 

Tommy was not there yesterday. You are right about those gull wings.

 

This would have been nice to get up to, but work got in the way of this one. Was Jeff V one of your instructors by chance?

 

I did not meet Jeff V. We were put into 5 groups, each group had 2 or 3 instructors. Our instructors were Roger and Rick, we had 5 people in the group.

 

Fun times.. Just wondering do they use performance package cars? (red brake calipers) I'm going in August to Road Atlanta.
