Hey guys...it's been a crazy summer and haven't posted a shop project update in a while. Here's a super clean 1989 328 GTS that we just completed stage 1 of a big project to make it even a nicer example. It will be back this winter for full suspension bushing overahaul and some other bits. Yes... we will be removing the red paint from the brake calipers! We are now making the stainless braided Polymide fuel lines in house...matching the original specs. See picture below I'll be posting a full shop update soon in the New England region threads with pictures of recent Fcars that we've serviced Best, Steve Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looks good. Can I ask, is that SPAL fan filter a new part? If so do you happen to know the SPAL part number?
Looks great! Based on the 2k price of the recent 308 posted here, I'll offer you 6K for it! OK, maybe 8k if you insist on top dollar.
Please tell us about the BBK...my fronts need replaced and a BBK option would be of interest. Also, what kind of paint are you using on the black bits..anything special?
I swear, I must still have paint fumes in my head: I can't even quite place where this fan is! My heater fans face 'up' from d. side lower valance. Where is this? (Please, if you must call me a dumbass, please do it in a PM! )
Its down in the area in front of the LH front wheel - not too easy to get to! Its the main ventilation fan (actually I think there are two of them - one for the RHS & one for the LHS of the cockpit)
The filters are new from the factory... NOS parts. I don't have the Spal number but you can try to source them using the orig numbers off your filters. PM me if you need any parts and I'll be happy to help Steve
BBK... Big Brake Kit?? This car has stock brakes but the previous owner painted the calipers. We are going to restore them to the original appearance this winter. We have several paint products we use for restoration work but we used Wurth Matte black on this car Steve
those fan filters are worth replacing or even just washing, it changes the smell in the car aswell, nice and fresh..
Thanks Steve - they are showing as "unavailable" at Ferrariparts.co.uk (so I thought you must have sourced them directly elsewhere) but I will ask them to check.
Thanks Steve. F-Parts are telling me they are NLA. I'll ask them to check with the factory. rgds Iain
Hey Steve, The car runs and sounds better than it looks. Really happy I trusted you, Dave and the rest of the team at AMNE with my cars. Thank you for sharing your expertise and for your very kind efforts on this sensitive preservation. This little car is lots of fun and thanks to you it is functioning as designed. Cheers, Joe
Thanks Joe... My pleasure! It's great to work with you to preserve another Ferrari. I'll let Dave know as well. Enjoy it!! Best, Steve
BTW... not all 328s use these filters. The factory introduced this style blower/filter in 1988. See picture below that shows the filters (#59) and the vin break when they started using the filters There's only a few sets left Steve Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looks nice. I'm curious, how do you plan to remove the red paint, or how did you remove it? Did it require taking the calipers off? -F
I found more of the Spal filters... $75 each if anyone wants new ones Steve Steve, I need two of them for my Sept 88 F328 - on mine, the plastic cages are crumbling, so I can't even clean them and reuse... Please let me know how I can buy a pair. (;-) Thanks! Tim
