Does anyone here use Amsoil in their cars? I was thinking of putting in my 308. Apparently it's the best oil you can use.

I use it on all the motors I care for with the exception of my Dino since its quite a old motor with a few leaks and some oil burning issues. When I rebuild my Dino it will get that oil also.

Not sure if it's the "best", but I used the 75W90 Amsoil in my ex-308 gearbox with no problems.

    Motul 300V is the best.

    Amsoil is plenty good enough.

Just got my box of 12 qts of Amsoil XL 10W-40, I will perform my first oil change on my 84 308 QV tomorrow. I used to use the Series 2000 20W-50 Amsoil when I do my long trips during summer with outstanding results, no oil leaks anywhere, runs smoother, oil preassure guage starts to register with in 2 seconds, and few degree cooler according to oil temp guage. Just plain good stuff.

Ditto for their SVG tranny oil. As for engine oil, see Bob Is The Oil Guy (BITOG) for a wider opinion of oils. Amsoil is good, though there are alternatives depending on your use/engine.

    Thanks for the info.

I may try it. I was just going to use it in the engine.

Miketauson, let me know your results.

    Thanks,
    Jim
