    My 19 y.o. son is taking a year in Munich and is thinking of going to the Amsterdam Music Festival next week. It looks like it's sold out. Any advice on getting tickets, where a student can stay, etc.? Thanks.

    Thanks for the quick reply post. I am pretty sure that it is a different event. It starts October 18. Is the hansbrinker nearby the venue?

    The only place i know for getting tickets for sold out events is: www.ticketswap.nl but i don't know how they work with payments from foreign countries.

    Hans brinker isn't really nearby the venue, it's about 30mins with public traffic.
    And it i think the cheapest option in Amsterdam, otherwise he can look for an
    hotel near the arena with booking.com.

    Thanks. I will pass along the hotel information to him. I think he will buy the "VIP" ticket if that is all that remains available.

    If your son goes to the german version of the website, www.ticketswap.de, he can pay with a credit card. There are still some VIP tickets available at this moment.

    Thanks to you both.

    Matthew has his ticket (VIP) and has booked 2 nights at a youth hostel. I said I'd cover the trip expenses on the condition that he spend 2 days in Amsterdam. He's required to rent a bicycle, visit the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museum, ride on a canal boat and see the city. :)
