My Boxer restoration continues-I'll update the thread in a bit, but I thought I'd share a pretty interesting bit of history. I decided to restore the leather and seats with the leatherique system as the base leather is in actually excellent condition. In the process of doing so and disassembling the backs off of the recliner mechanism a bit of history dropped out! Clearly, this must have been from a factory test driver as the car was exported basically new. Interesting info on the Wiki- a link to a long-gone era...

I also used thsoe coins when I have been for vacation in italy.

at that time there have been no cellphones so the testdrivers always had to have with them some of those coins to call the factory if the car was not runing anymore to get picked up again? :)
