Bill Badurski’s article “Rebuilding for Performance” in “Forza, The Magazine About Ferrari,” Number 62, June 2005, should be required reading for all who may be considering the overhaul of any Ferrari engine.

There have been a number of postings on this forum regarding the why’s and where-fore’s regarding the cost of rebuilding a Ferrari engine. This article addresses some areas that seem to be constants with Ferrari engines: The time it takes to do a proper job, identifying and correcting past errors, the cost of parts whether OEM or aftermarket, and the necessary care in final assembly and testing during break-in.

Mr. Badurski, thanks for taking your time to present another well written, interesting and informative article. You keep writing them, I’ll keep reading them.

Special thanks for mentioning the engine type number … so few authors take the time to identify the “heart of the beast", which is; in my opinion, what Ferrari are all about.

    Best wishes,

Bill has taken the time on more than one occasion to answer my questions about my car. Super nice, stand up guy. A man's man.
