I think this might be interesting..........maybe not!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I arrived in Boston at about 5 PM........picked up the rental and drove to Newport, RI. Traffic was bumper-to-bumper all through Boston. I didn't see any Ferraris, or other exotic cars tonight. It was dark when I arrived in Newport. Went to a place called "Yesterday's" for dinner.......had Mahi-Mahi..........very good. The service was only so-so. Newport seems to be a party town.
You just have to know when and where to go. Stay away from cover charge bars that attract tourists. I only go to Newport in the fall and spring by car. The West Deck inside dinning is a great place. Dont bother with outside in the summer as it has a bar menu and caters to tourists. Yesterdays is good. Try the Chandler for a once a year type place. The chowder at the Black Pearl is great. The real find in the area is over the bridge to Jamestown. Very nice and quiet and a few good places to eat and to take a nice ride.
I did have dinner at the Chandlers..........halibut was very good. The service was excellent. I went there after doing part of the cliff walk. Boat cruise of the bay was nice.........as was the sailboat cruise the next day. Had a lobster at the Black Pearl.......great! I did see a Lotus Esprit, a few corvettes, and a number of Porsches.......I couln't tell which ones...........they ALL look the same to me. Never made it to Jamestown.........maybe next time. I did spend two days in Hyannis, MA. I took the ferry to Nantucket........I couldn't believe the home prices there!!!!!!!!!!!.........only for the very rich, and tourist, like me! I thought I would have lunch with the K's in Hyannisport, but they where gone for the day..........maybe next time.......haha!!!!!! I did see a silver 550 Maranello in Hyannis........nice.
