Many, many Thanks to Alberto, wich I met in March in Italy for getting a particular 208 turbo GTB (silver/red/red), I now own my second 208 turbo, it's a GTB to line up my GTS and it's also silver but on black leather with grey texture (the standard 208 turbo seats). At this time I only have a few pictures and a big hole at my bank account and I'm really looking forward to park her side by side to her sister, the white 208 turbo GTS.

Without Alberto I wouldn't get this car and that is the reason, why I want to thank him this way ... creating a thread about the car, he found for me.

Markus, It was a pleasure to meet you and the passion you have inside for those (fantastic looking) cars.

I think that turbo model is the best looking 3X8 ever: nice, rare, exotic and maybe the best deal today available in the 3X8 range, as its cost is still affordable by many.

I was very sad you did not get the silver and red one you came here in Italy to buy, so I managed to find another one very similar: I think that in 48 hours It was very difficult to find a better one...

And then, i liked your "new" silver 208 GTB turbo so much that I managed to find out another one for me: I got it just friday, three days ago!

The amusing thing is that It's exaclty like your one: a silver (Grigio Nurburgring) 208 GTB turbo with black leather and grey texture... :)

I think no more than 15-20 cars of that color have been built, but it really fits very well the 208 turbo shape.

    ciao

Lovely car, Markus. Congratulations! That's an interesting panel split on the front driver's side wing. Do you know why that was done?

    Paul,

Isn't it rather a cable from the battery tender, running over the wing to the battery compartment?

    Yes, it's a battery-jogger cable

grat find, Markus: I would like to say that our two cars are not much different: maybe the black and grey interior even better fits the Grigio Nurburgring outside car color than the press car tan interior. :)

And then I think there is also Gilles Villeneuve in the sale brochure. I think the pictures were done just a week before the fatal crash in Zolder, may 1982.

At that time a "turbo" was the top, here: we had Gilles Villeneuve and Didier Pironi winning races with the ultra-powerful Ferrari 126 C2 twin turbo V6 F1 car, so I remember how exciting was that first turbocharged Ferrari 208 to my 20 years old eyes.

    ciao

As seen on the first picture of this thread, my (hopefully tomorrow arriving) 208 turbo GTB has no Cibiè Passing lights ... yet.
I've got a NOS pair today, still Fog-lights, but I also got a NOS pair of Passinglight reflectors and lenses to change the "foggy" ones into "passing" ones. :)

    I have a pair too.

Want to put them on my 308.

What is the "Right" way to do this?

They have to be no (!!!) Fog-lights but passing-lights, you know, Mark.

These Cibiè have to be mounted under the front bumper, not (!!!) behind the grille of a QV f.e.

You need the front bumper with the mounting points for this lights. I don't know exactly, but I think, that only the turbos have had this special front bumper.

The electrical wiring has to be, that the lights will flash, if you pull the light-stick/switch AND the eyes are shut (driving lights OFF).

EDIT: IMO only the turbos have had Cibiè , but the other models have had Carellos behind the grille. Is that true ? Any suggestions ?

carbed 308 GTB/GTS and 2Vi cars had them (Cibie) as factory option: my dry sump came out from factory with them. I think QV had them (Cibie) as standard too

    2281GT,

Where did you get the "passing" (white) reflectors and lenses?

    ebay.

search for "Cibie 35" or "Cibie iode 35" or (wrong) "Airport 35". The "Airport"-model is the rectangular version, not "rounded enough"

In France there are many offers, because these lights have been mounted on many Renault.

BUT: my passing-reflectors are white, the glasses are yellow. I know, not 100% correct, but I like them. On my 250GTE the foglights have been yellow also (original, not france, but italy delivery).
