Gorgeous!!
Markus, I found May 1983 official Ferrari price list, the year of your car. It costed 55140000 Lire (IVA 20% included). The 308 GTBi quattrovalvole costed 63411000 Lire (IVA 38% included). So Ferrari net selling prices were: 45950000 Lire for the 208 GTB turbo 45950000 Lire for the 308 GTBi quattrovalvole That means exactly the same cost! ciao Image Unavailable, Please Login
IMO the 208 turbo was the better offer because of the higher "grade of technic" , the charger, the NACA ports. IMO the factory didn't make as much money with the turbo as trhey did with the QV.
At least the work started today... 1st Step: Dismantling of the suspension: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Hello Benneke, welcome to (the one and only) FChat ! Great to see another "small-turbo-Lover" here. The interior of your car is black leather with grey texture, like mine ? Or is it totally leather (option) ? best Markus
Hi 2281GT, I really love my little turbo. It's a joy to drive. My interior is creme tan with cloth inserts,so no full leather and red carpet inside. I bought the car 2 years ago in Italy, second owner with only 34K km at a very reasonable price back then. Did a lot of work on the car like ignition, fuel injectors, water pump, major service with all belts,... Next is a new clutch so she will be ready to enjoy by spring.
Thanks guys, it really is the most beautiful of all 3x8 models. It's about time people start to appreciate the rarety and importance of the first Ferrari turbo. In my dreams it's my own little 288 gto. Guess I'll keep on dreaming
Still awaiting "the tonns" of nuts and bolds back from the Galvaniseur because of yellow zink plating ... The wishbones are out for powder coating ... Only the small floating axles are just painted. ... no further progress currently. Image Unavailable, Please Login

WoW, bling bling! That's going to be one great looking car when it's finished! Alberto is going to get some tough competition. Me, I'm just jealous ;-)
Hahaha, no, it's impossible! This model is really great looking and if well serviced and restored is quite fast and with a fantastic sound too: it deserves to be shining everywhere, exactly in this way. ciao
Markus, your car has the "three world records engine": 1) highest power per liter: 110,5 hp/liter. This at the moment of introduction, April 1982. 2) smallest V8 engine ever installed on a car (1990 cm3), even now. 3) first street car Ferrari turbocharged engine, and this is forever. not bad... ciao
Hi Alberto, On the thread about turbo conversions, we had been discussing various approaches to intercooling. You had kindly posted some photographs that clearly showed how the air-intercooler was fitted to the 208... The pictures that I have seen from other 208's do not look the same: It appears that the intercooler is not there on these (see photographs). Would you please clarify the differences, I.e., let me know if some 208's had intercoolers and others did not, etc.? Further to this, I believe that you mentioned that the wastegate could be set to allow ~17 psi of boost... If Ferrari made a non-intercooled version of the 208, what was the standard/maximum boost setting? Thank you in advance... With best regards, John. John, the first picture, you posted is the enginebay of a "208 turbo" (1982-1985), looks like a 308 QV. The second picture is the enginebay of a "GTB/GTS turbo intercooler" (1986-1989), looks like a 328. They are totaly different cars. Only the second one (looking like a 328) was an intercooler. The maximum boost of the "non-intercooled" 208 turbo was 0.6 bar , so 8.7 psi
