Ready to get my hands dirty :D . It's a dirty job but somebody has to do it!
Only a few of the many parts, that came out of my "now-complete-suspension-rebuilt" 208 turbo GTB ... After completing the service (belts, fluids with filters, plugs, K-Jectronic overhaul with membrane etc , rebuild WUR), wich started last week, finally the window motors and complete window rubbers will be changed. After that she will go to the bodyshop again. Target: At 1st of April ready to be driven again. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I just sent our silver one to the body shop again: I don't want to be at the second place... Ciao P.S. Great work, Markus
We are both lunatics with our twins. Our twins will be the best 208 turbo GTBs ever, trust me, Alberto.
Today the first ride for months ... It is a completely different car, it's handy, it's direct, it's agile, no more rattling noise anywhere and it makes so much fun ! Image Unavailable, Please Login
I bet that was a thrilling day driving your "new" car. Can't wait for my car to be ready from the workshop. Fantastic weather today and no car to enjoy :-(
Yesterday another ride - I have to "drive on" my new TRX tires, the first 500km (at least) the have no grip. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Another test-drive today ... After complete overhauling the Gearbox (with differential) and the turbocharger, another small service followed. Now the car runs like new, feels like new, sounds like new ... The noise of the gearbox and the scratching gear change is as gone as the frictional noises of the differential. Now there is "Castrol Syntrax 75W140 limited slip" filled in and the gears are going smoothly in without any noise. For the engine there is the original "Agip sint 2000" filled in and the original FRAM Oilfilter mounted. The NGK DPR9EIX spark plugs are firing like hell and the charger produces the correct pressure again. The complete new suspension and brakes with the new TRX lead the car like railway without any transmission noise. I love this car ! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Exciting! But, FRAM oil filter? I thought it's not recommended anymore due to the lack of inner supporting column? Just curious...
Great pictures: I'm a bit envious and I want to take some pictures with a good background very soon of my twin one. What a good looking car. Ciao
Yes, that's true, but it was original the day the car was delivered. Because of the the missing supporting column, the oils drains down out of the filter when switching off the engine and it takes some time get the filter refilled, when starting the engine. That is the only problem of the FRAM Filters. The filtering rate and the flow through the filter is VERY good (IMO better than many others) and therefore I use them - and start the engine very carefully every time.
I've created a Facebook-Site about the 208 turbo's ! I would like to see anybody interested in that particular car there ... https://www.facebook.com/Ferrari-208-turbo-GTBGTS-1731608763718370/?fref=nf
Check out post #13 here. Interesting findings about the Fram; Don't want a Fram http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=310399 Beautiful car by the way, congratulations! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
On Facebook I'm called "Marcello Migliorers" (the italian "word-by-word" translation of my real name) , just for accepting friendship-request, sent to Benny and Alberto so far.
