...for those Ferraristi who are also interested in a much better car than the 750 Monza:

Since the 1st. Edition of my book about the magical Maserati 300S became available in 2008, much more information came to light. Now, after 10 years of further research the 2nd. Edition is finished and available via my publisher www.daltonwatson.com

This much-updated 2nd Edition of the 300S book includes many corrections and additions to the original text that have been uncovered in the last ten years. Despite one car all mystery 300S featured in the 1st. Edition are now identified.

Almost all the photographs are new and previously unpublished, making the book an exciting addition to any Maserati library.

The Maserati 300S was one of the most successful race cars of the 1950s and among the most beautiful ever built. It was the main opponent of the Ferraris in the World Sportscar Championships of 1956 and 1957. Described by Sir Stirling Moss as one of the best race cars he had ever driven and loved by every racing driver due to its balanced handling qualities, the 300S wrote motor sports history.

Glory and disaster ran side by side adding mystique to the legend. Despite the often confusing and inaccurate records that make it difficult to establish the exact fate of each car, the history of each of the twenty-five 300S built by Officine Maserati S.p.A. in Modena is listed chassis-by-chassis and profusely illustrated with 360 period photographs.

The book is separated in two volumes (see attachment):

    "300S“
features on 452 pages the individual history of all cars, chassis-by-chassis.

    "The Factory Team Cars“
is a photo book with 112 pages about the four 300S Maserati S.p.A. owned and used in all major races during the 1950s.

Both volumes come in a slipcase and the size is 295mm x 302mm
