This weekend, Andrews AFB outside of Washington will be hosting their annual Joint Services Open House, regularly among the best of all of the AFB open-house airshows. The Blue Angels are the keynote performers, and the F-22 demo team will also perform.

I went to it last year and had a great time. The Thunderbirds were there at the time...I guess they rotate the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds each year. The "heritage" flight at the end of the show was the P51, A10, and F22. The year before, it was the P51, F4, F15, and F22 from what I was told. Hopefully the F4 makes it out this year.

Be sure to get there early (parking at FedEx Field). Drinks are not allowed so bring cash to avoid using their ATMs. Obama took out one of the VIP 747s on Sunday last year so a lot of people got to see Air Force One take off during the show.

Well, the schedule shows the F-22 performing right after an F-16 and a P-51 each day, with the Heritage Flight coming thereafter, so I suspect that those are this year's components of that Heritage Flight. (Sure wish they would round up an F-86 somewhere.)

Right on! Wouldn't it be great to see a P-38, 39, 40, 47, 51, 80, 84,86, 100, 101,102, 104,and my favorite, the F-105 at least on the line. I have seen all of them fly except the -105.
