Since two weeks or so, dozens of these bastards, one pictured below, have decided to throw a party in the flower bed in front of the window next to my desk. I can't open it anymore, or I'll find several of them inside my room within minutes, seems they prefer the cold room to the heat outside. Does anyone know a) what they are and b) how to get rid of them?

Have you tried bug spray on the structure to kill the present ones and interfere with the wellbeing of future interlopers?

We get harmless little beetles from time to time and spray around the foundation with the Ortho Home Defense that comes in the gallon bottle with the sprayer, and it takes care of the little jerks for weeks at a time... until it rains then have to repeat the reapplication process all over again. They also make granule bug killer you can sprinkle in the flower beds if you are concerned they're living there.

May we see a close up of the sexual organs, the mandible and the antennae to make an accurate ID?

Thanks - further research shows it could very well be Blattella germanica, see picture below. Aren't these folks supposed to gather in dirty third-class restaurant's kitchens, and not in my Grandma's flower bed???

Close up of the sexual organs, eh? No bug porn here, you sicko!!!

I'm not convinced that is a cockroac in the 1st pic when compared to the pic in post #8.

The antennas look wrong, and the hind legs aren't long enough, unless its the angle the photo was taken from.

And with cockroaches, where there's one, there's 1000. Go stomping around the flower bed and see how many you rouse.

I think they're called box crawlers or something, they were in our house for a while after we moved.
