Are they supposed to be the same on all 600+ that were produced. Seems like I've seen at least 4 different ones. If there are different ones were they factory options and is there any difference besides the looks?

2 types only, one for the carburetted cars, and one for the fuelie cars. I don't think they are interchangeable as their profile mimics the top of the engine unit.

    Lots of examples here:

Are you saying the side drought and the down drought cars use the same engine cover, and the fuelies use another? I do believe there is at least one more cover than the two covers you reference in your post!!!

The OP is speaking of the ANNIVERSARY Countach. Perhaps you missed that?

There are 2 types of cover as I described.

This is a great thread. I think it would also be cool to show the three (at least the 3 I know of), engine hatches for the Quattrovalves too.

These are the (3) that I know of:

1985 & early 1986 (2 buldges w/ black covers and no center vent)
    later 1986, '87, '88 and 88 1/2 with 2 buldges w/vented screens and center vent
    85 - 88 1/2 Carb Cars

Joe, did I catch them all? Any I might have missed?

There is a fourth type. The DD engine cover comes in 2 forms. The first form from 85 to 88, and the second appearing on the 88 1/2. The 88 1/2 engine cover is different in that there are no vertical vents on the interior sides of the cover, whereas prior to that there was a vent running along most of the lenth of the vertical sectins of the cover with a plate leaving about a 1 or 2 cm gap for air to escape.

This is all great. But lets be clear for the uninitiated per the original topic, there are only 2 types of Annivesario engine lids.

yes, Joe you are correct, but this thread has kind of expanded into all the different DD engine covers. Soon it may expand to all Countach engine covers!
