I am aware of an anniversary model Countach (which is not my favourite countach) presumably built in 1984, an anniversary diablo (one of the nicest bar the 6.0) built in 1994 and an anniversary Murcielago (which i loathe) built in 2004.

What was the model they built for the 10th anniversary in 1974, the Miura?

Out of the four anniversary models, which would be deemed the most desirable these days? I for one would go for the SE30 as I think everything about it has a very unique and gorgeous aura that separates it from other versions of the model, what do you guys think? I think Ralfabco had or has one and i can see why, they are just simply stunning, up there with the 6.0 in looks wthout a doubt. I believe there are some engine mods to the diablo but there is some scepticism to this i believe.

With reference to the 40th anniversary model, i hate it. I hate the colour, the wheels and thats pretty much all i wish to know about it! I really have never seen anyone praise it so think the public opinion is probably the same? Not sure if there is any performance gain for the Murcielago?

The countach is always a lovely car but I preferred the countach without the sills and without the split rim wheels, both of these features i think the anniversary model has. The performance i know is far superior on the anniversary model though so this being a major benefit!

Anyway, would appreciate some input on this as I know nothing of a 10th anniversary model and what other folks think of them.

    Regards,

    Matthew

Wasn't the Anniv. Countach in 1989, a 25th Anniv. car?

At any rate, nice vid... Enjoyed it.

I know that there was a 1989 25th anniversary car. Not too sure about the 1984. Probably wasn't a ten year car.

I never was crazy about the light purple color of the 30th anniversary car (especially the blue interior) but to each his own.

    Here's the 25th ann. car.

I know some will disagree, but to me, the Countach just doesn't look right without a spoiler...

I have to agree with you. Looks unfinished to me too. You remember that little spoiler that they had in the front too...that was silly. :) Looks like "Pimp my Countach"

I love the color on the 40th ann Murcie, seen two in person. Looks way better than in pics. I don't prefer the purple on the regular SE30s, but I think purple is the best on the Jota version. :) I've love every type of Countach. I think the ones that need the wings are the ones with the huge fender flares and cheese graters. The LP500 looks perfect without the wing.

The same can apply to Diablos. The early 2wd and the later 6.0 had clean lines and didn't have that 3 finned air duct behind the doors so they look good without wings. The other Diablos had the cheese graters (i.e. VT roadsters, SE30s, etc) so they looked a lot better with wings.

Early US cars had a certain bumper height requirement. The "wing" is actually an extension of the bumper to meet regulations.

IIRC the Miura production was stopped in '73 and the LP400 Countach began production in '74, so the only thing remotely related to a "Special/Anniv. Edition" Miura would be the Jota.

I never understood why Lambo made the 40th Anniv Murcies as 2003 Model year cars. Should have been a 2004 model to accurately portray the 40th Anniv. That's Italian for ya!

    Soas i see it:

There does not seem to be a 10th anniversary model, thats kind of disappointing!

The first we know of is a 25th anniversary, a countach, known to be the best countach but not necessarily the most attractive. How many were made?

Apart from the 6.0 diablo, would you all agree the SE30 is the next best version of this model? I personally like the colour and think it was the first of its kind and suits the car well. The car has soft lines all the way through it and this soft viola colour works well. How many of these were made?

The 40th anniversary model being the Murcielago was not even built on the 40th year, hmmm. I just cant find anything nice to say about it.

The 25th anniversary countach was a 1989 model therefore presumably the man himself started preduction in 1974 however as above the 40th anniversary hats have 1973 - 2003 on them, whats the script?

    Roy, can you help us?

Remember that Chrysler was the one, that insisted that L redesign the Countach.

Anniv cars ? Only the SE 30 had geniune performance upgrades. The 89 car had a slight redesign of the suspension, and improved P Zero tires.

    25th 89 Countach (Approx 650 +/- built)

    30th SE 30 (150 built / 25 imported into USA)
    USA colors
    black Only one or two
    white Only one
    yellow Only one

(balance split between purple and red).

Their were never any American (purple) cars imported, with the blue Alcantra interior. An enthusiast in LA, has recently redone his car in the blue Alcantra interior.

I believe two cars have been exported out of the USA.

    ____

    No Anniv Miura

    ____

Best Countach ? That depends on what you are looking for. Their are cars with less power, that have much less weight, and less luxury items. It appears that most European cars do not have the wing.
