We have been trying very hard to do this grassroots and not have any entry fees. So far we have been successful with the generosity of others. If we do end up with an entry fee, it will be nominal. Expect gas, hotel, food, drinks and if you gamble (which I don't) plan on that. JIM
Good News, She says we're Going! Should we start making our resurvations now, or....? Do you have a feel for how many 308's and other Ferrari's will be there ? Doug
I can only think of one person who should buy a white ferrari or could buy a white ferrari and not take any flack for driving it !!! his name was ELVIS I believe.........
been checking the roads around the area there. there is a nice circuit of about 125 miles that would make a great saturday morning drive. it could include a stop at graceland and some of the worlds best BBQ can be found just about anywhere.
There will be a Tech Session as part of the 308's in '08 event. (not 100% sure which day yet...) It WILL include atleast a 45minute drive to the exotic shop then back on some really great roads. I am anticipating that we will open a registration link this coming week. Get ready.....There is some really cool stuff planned!!!!!!! JIM
This is it...Registration for the '308's in '08 event is officially open!!!! Please join your fellow Ferrari owners for a great weekend of fun and Ferrari related activities in Tunica, Ms. on Oct. 10-12, 2008. This event is for ALL Ferraris and the celebration will honor the 3x8 models. The following activities will take place: Welcome dinner Car Show Tech Session Autocross Event F1 Viewing Party plus much more! All net proceeds from the weekend will benefit Habitat for Humanity in Memphis. To register, follow this link: http://mysite.verizon.net/ressxz5e/308sin08/ I hope to see every one of you who Emailed me/PM'd me and said that you would drive out. JIM
Jim, I downloaded the form and will be sending it in snail mail. My question is: I'm not sure who I will invite to go with me. They won't be bringing a car but will want to go to the Fri Night Dinner and have access to the other functions of the event. Will they be able to register once we arrive since I don't have a name to send in with my registration? Joe
Jim, I have also down loaded the regristration form and will be sending it via snail mail. I plan to trailer the Ferrari to the event, will Harrah's have parking available for pick-up/trailers? Doug
Joe, You can do this one of two ways.... Register for 2 people and put TBD in the space for the additional name. You can let me know a name later and I'll add it/make name tag at that time or we can do it that Friday, though it would be preferential to have people register in advance truth be told. JIM
Doug, Yes, there will be ample space to park for those trailering in their Ferraris. Among others, Harrah's has 2 180,000sqft. parking lots that don't get much use... JIM
A while back I had some inquiries from a couple guys in California about trailering in cars. The question regarded going in on a Semi transporter to trailer in cars as a group. ` If there is interest in this from guys on either coast. I have a lead on a transport company (reputable) that *might* give a good group rate to the show. I'm guessing they would need a good 6-8 cars to do it. Please PM me if you are interested and I'll get more info. JIM
With all the different 308's attending, someone has GOT to bring some sound recording equipment so the sounds of carbed vs FI and Tubi vs Capristo vs OEM vs Stebro vs....etc etc. can be done. This is a perfect opportunity.
Sorry his was black and a Gt4 to boot! (Oop sorry Dave I should have read further, though you did forget to mention it was a GT4!) Cheers!
Hey Jim, I've just downloaded the form. Looks Great!!! I've also sent this to everyone in our local club. We plan to have a big group show!! The Drive out to the Tech Session on Friday will be an AWESOME site. We might need a police escort. What do you guys think? Tom
My pleasure, Tom. I love Memphis and have always enjoyed the events you've put on there. For this one, the Ferrari Club of America SE Region has agreed to help so that costs are kept low for participants even though this is not an FCA-sponsored event. I've also personally provided some artwork that may be used for t-shirts or other materials... Jim: My registration form and check are in the mail!
Tom, With the responses that I"ve received prior to launching the registration, we very well may need an escort. It's my understanding that the roads to the tech session will be very cool driving roads!!!! For the car show, we are planning on arranging the 3x8's by SN#'s. I think that for the public attending as well as all the owners, this will be very cool to see the progression of the 3x8 series. In addition, there is going to be a book signing of all 3x8 owners to commemorate this event. Wait until you see the book!!!!!! JIM
Mike, The local involvement is VERY much appreciated! All of you have been wonderful. We need as many owners to come as possible to make this a great 1st event! I'm glad that you are on board and look very forward to meeting you in person and seeing that gorgeous QV!!!!!!!!!! JIM PS, the tshirts will be very cool!!!
Is there a way to register that doesn't involve printing the form? Can I just fill it out and email it to ya?
there already is a west coast get together. do a search in this forum. the central location should make this a national event. east coast is about the same distance as west coast. if you're concerned about driving, there is an earlier thread about a car carrier. get a group together and split the cost. any way you can, be there.
