Hello I've just done my first annual service for my F430 Coupe F1 at the Ferrari dealership. I'm curious if these are the usual prices as they seem a bit more from what i've read in other topics. So, they have changed air filters, polen filter and oil filter with oil change. Filters had about the same price i've seen anywhere else but for this service i've been quoted 6 hours of labor at 120 euros/hour and the oil was pretty expensive at 34 euros / liter. As far as i know every dealership uses shell helix ultra 5w40 and that's about 40 euros/5 liter... Car has only 7700km done so far and was serviced 400km ago but it had almost two years of sitting since then in their dealership so i wanted everything fresh. I was expecting to see more operations detailed in the invoice so i don't know exactly what they did in those 6hours of labor, i presume they did not require 6 hours for filters and oil. Any input is highly appreciated !
Are filter changes required at an annual. If the 430 is the same as a 360 then the annual is engine oil and filter and brake flush. My indie mechanic charges me around $700 (540 Euros) and uses AGIP 5w40 and takes around 2 hours. Alan
There are different services for different mileages, my last service was to include a brake flush but they phoned to get the ok before they did it, in fact if there is anything different that wants doing and it's not in the service they phone. It still get me heated up though with the price of £440 for a new service booklet! Here in the UK it's a big thing to have all the services stamped by Ferrari, it effects the sales price.
If I remember rightly (it's been 36 years since I lived there) they advertise the cars as having a FSH -- Full Service History. Here in the States the book never seems to get stamped -- service receipts are better as they state exactly what was done and what parts were used -- as long as the owner(s) pass them on with the vehicle. I have a ring binder with all the receipts that I will pass on to the next owner. Alan
I only change air and pollen filters if they're needed (not very often). They're a big profit item for a dealer. A complete fluid service on a 360 or 430 (if done correctly), is pretty much an all day job so labor will reflect that. If the underpanels don't come off during the service, you need to go somewhere else. I recommend that gearbox and cooling system fluids are done annually to verify that the trans oil cooler hasn't failed. I also do a routine smoke test of the exhaust system at the same time.
If it sat for 2 years, I would think a complete fluid service should be done, not just motor oil. I would assume that they also hooked up the car to an SD3 to check the clutch wear, PIS, etc.
I change my fluids annually now but I use an independent shop. I keep all service records in a binder.
I recently did the oil, oil filter, coolant flush, tranny flush, and brake flush. It took about 8 hrs.....I timed myself. This was my second time doing this on my car, so there were no questions this time around and represents a true picture of time involved. I now understand the amount of labor mechanics charge. It's not difficult, but it is time consuming when done correctly
