So the car I am looking at had the full annual in Oct. 2009, and has been driven less than 20mi. total in the past 15months since then...Does it need another annual now? Love to hear all opinions and any technical reasons for responses either way. And yes, I know Ferrari says annual regardless of miles... Thanks guys..

It may not be important to you but it will likely be important when you sell.

Is it a 360 or a 430? Either way you probably need the annual service (fluids, adjustments, etc).

Exactly. I do it. I figure the car deserves it-- but then I live one mile from the dealer.

Just because it sits for 15 months doesn't mean nothing can go wrong. I always wonder about the state of the fuel in the tank when left that long without running.

    +1.

I do mine once a year as the name "annual" implies.

If what it had in Oct. 09 is the annual svc, then it's due for the more extensive bi-annual service (all fluids), not just another annual svc.

I would find out when the bi-annual service was last completed and go from there. If never done, I would go that route, otherwise I would play it safe and get a annual service. It runs about 1000 for annual at my dealer and 1900 for bi-annual but I think they are at the high end.

Peace of mind goes a long way. Since it's not current on service, factor that into the negotiations.

I look at the annual service like this.

The cost is about the same as the insurance to drive the car. If I can afford that, I should be able to afford some insurance to keep it running properly.

Scott, you probably know this because you've been doing a lot of good research on ownership, but an Annual or Bi-Annual is something any good independent F-Car mechanic can take care of. No need to pay dealership rates on this work if you don't have to.

Sorry, it is a 430...the 15k annual maintenance was done in Oct 09'. Seems like the bi-annual to me. It was over $1500 at an authorized Fdealer.

Then the question is just an annual svc at $600 to $1K max. No brainer to me.

I would be somewhat concerned that it has sat for 15 months. You really need to get her out for a decent drive. Annual service means annual service. Its an expensive car and not worth saving a grand over....My 20 basis points....Steve

My last annual on the CS was $750 at the dealer. Hardly worth skimping on.

Just check with the dealership where the service was done and asked the service manager. The car may need JUST the oil change and all other fluids top off.

The brake/clutch fluid needs changing, too, if the oil does. Brake fluid absorbs water and, since it has not been driven, the water tends to stay in the same place and corrode expensive things.
