Ok, I’m a long way from needing the annual (my car had its major in September), but I would like to get myself used to the idea of doing this in my garage at home and would like some input on what is supposed to be done in an annual service, I’m looking for all the details, simple things like oil and filter don't worrie me, did them on my Porsche. I’m thinking down the lines of coolant? Break fluid? Checking things like belt tension, air filters plugs and leads? I’m writing this off the top of my head, sorry if I miss something fairly obvious.

Any help would be great, just no photo's of Pap in his shorts........

The annual service is laid out in your owners manual. To make it short I equate the annual as changing ALL the fluids. they should be changed once a year except for gearbox every other year on that one. I think you are wasting good oil changing it every year. the fluids are brake/clutch, PS, oil and coolant. There are 2 block plugs and 2 rad. plugs always pull all 4. Check the condition of ancillary belts and battery connections. Every other year I pull the spark plugs and inspect them. I check the balance of my throttle bodies with a manometer. If you are doing this yourself keep all receipts and make notes/pictures on what you did and the conditions of things as you go through the car. Most importantly read your owners manual.

Thanks for your help guys, I have read the owners manual from cover to cover and the fact these details were in there slipped my mind. You have answered my question effectively anyhow, Thank you. :)
