This is a strange one and has me pulling out what little hair I have left.

When I'm using my phone connected through the usp port to play music, it regularly also plays what sounds like sat nav directions but in a number of different languages. This is without the sat nav running.
    Any suggestions please.

Do you have navigation open on your phone eg. Waze, Google maps Etc.? I've seen my phone do that and when using navigation on the phone it tries to force some background music also loaded on phone. You have to force turn off either one to get the other unimpeded.

I do use Waze but always exit it fully when not in use. I've just logged out of Google maps in case that was causing the issue so will report back once I get home and try it.

    Still the same problem.

I've noticed when in media with my playlist on, if I press 'list' on the car's screen it lists all of these commands that keep interrupting the music. It's driving me nuts!!

    *UPDATE*
My remaining hair is now safe from being pulled out. I have found that if I use the Bluetooth connection everything works as it should. It's only when I try to use the USB connection that things start getting weird.
