ANOTHER 348 CHALLENGE GRILL UPDATE

Oh yeah, since I put my buttface avatar back up like you so elequently requested, and have been constantly belittled and humiliated for it, do I get a discount on my grill?

Albert - I like your grill very much. Is that just a modified 355 grill? (and yes, I mean your grill, not that thing pictured above)

 

This might help someone out, says they are repros, don't need any myself, already have a 355

Tom348, to answer your question, yes it is a modified 355 challenge grill. The 348 rear slat panel is wider and about 1 inch thinnger then the 355. When I did this conversion I was shocked that the 348 panel was wider! Would of thought the opposite. What had to be done was to cut off the bottome portion of the 355 challenge grill, and add the matching mesh to both sides of the the challenge grill. Approximately 1.3 inches to both sides, tapered. Lots of work, cant wait to see Huskers final rear panel!

 

I bought these from ebay and compared them to factory - very good reproduction............now just waiting for that damn grill!!

 

Dang! that shocks me too. i'd a thought you'd trim it! nice work, though, looks awesome. And YES, i can't wait to see the Husker creation either.

Where do you live? Are you anywhere close to the rest of us stooges? Goth seems to be working on several 348/355 projects with Vince. Have you seen his goth grill made from the standard 355 grill?
