Well, to say I am a little frustrated would be an amazing understatement. After weeks of trying to put a deal together on a really gorgeous Mondial, the seller changed his mind at the last minute and decided to keep the car. I knew it was too good to be true-the car was just stupendous. What is really frustrating is that this is the third car I have lost in 6 months. The first two were across the country. One was sold the same day I scheduled a PPI and the owner of the other started coming clean on the car's faults right before we cut the deal, but after some considerable out of pocket on my part.

UGGG!!!!! The most frustrating part about this car, is that I had already convinced myself to wait on the Ferrari and use my car allowance for a Maserati to use for work. This car came out of nowhere and stole my heart...

Oh well, back to the drawing board.

Patience is a virtue - be glad you didn't sink big-dollars on a car with huge needs/hidden problems. Keep looking!

Keep the faith, sooner or later the right car will come along, and when it does it will be worth the wait.

Dont feel too bad, I was looking @ race cars on racingjunk for months , I found THE car, made the deal & went to pick it up, but we got hot with tornadoes that nite, not wanting to drive 300 miles in that storm I called the owner & offrered to paypal the $$ to him & pick it up in the AM, he said he was OOT on sat & to pick it up monday. No more deposit required, Sunday nite he calls & said someone just picked up the car soo sorry.

That was march. I bought another car ( that happened to come in as runner up in it's first national event this past weekend!) & I happened to look at the scammer forum on that site last nite & low & behold the guy who bought that car was complaining about the 4k he had to put into the chassis & roll cage just to pass TECH! never mind make it right, on what appeared to be a stunning, up-tight car upon inspection.

You may have gotton lucky like I did.
BTW my new car was 10k cheaper too & its already won me 10% of the pp in its first outing. I like it!

    Joe,

Which Mondial are you looking to buy? I know of a (I believe it's a 92) Mondial T for sale with 15k miles. He's asking 59k. It had the belt service completed in 2007.
    Let me know,

    Jim

I was looking pretty much exclusively at Mondial 3.2's in the range of 25-35K. Can I tell you that I am bummed beyond words at having just lost this car!!
I had gotten everything squared away, right down to securing new TRX tires for $220.00 a pop! UGGGGGG!!

I know there will be others, however, like many of you, this dream was many years in the making and I was so close this time I could just taste it!!!

Thank you so much to everyone who has PM'd me and offered their help. I really appreciate it.

Cheap! Try owning a 400i where they cost $550 each.

Seriously they are getting pretty high aren't they?

At least this thread wasn't what I was fearing...

Somehow, I had visions of another 308 fire car.... "another car lost" to fire.

Sorry for your experiences, but I'm sure you'll find the right car for you.

What a cheap way to get an ad into a forum that you have only invested 5 minutes into, let alone not even subscribed...what is this world coming too? By the way the joke was week as well!!!
