Lets not forget that his Insurance company will NOT cover the damage since it was being raced on a track......:(

Unless he has "racing" or some comprehensive insurance??

Probably not a planned event; but I'm sure they will market the heck out of this. Can't wait to see what they do with the Enzo shell in the sequel. :)

I was pretty impressed with how well the car actually held up. That was not a light impact. The fact that the doors seemed to still open and the front fenders weren't crushed against the front wheels is a tribute to the strength of the tub.

    Tough crowd.

It's only an enzo, not an iconic ferrari supercar like the 288gto, f40 or f50. Once the next ferrari supercar comes out the enzo will be no big deal.

who here actually likes the shape?

This was not done on purpose. If it was done on purpose a stunt driver would have done it, not Eddie Griffin as he could get hurt and in general the actors do not do stunt driving that involves an accident. Also if it was done on purpose he would have at least had a helmet on.

I think your sentiments represent the thoughts of 99+% of people reading this thread. Unfortunately, it's that tiny minority of people that do such an injustice by posting such hateful garbage that gives us a bad name.

Even if the only thing that survived was the chassis serial number plate, the car will be "repaired" (ie rebuilt) at a fraction of the market-price. On an Enzo, the most valuable asset, besides its occupants, is the VIN#....

If anyone needs to apportion blame, then clearly the people responsible for designing course without adequate run-off need to step forward. Seems highly negligent to me for them to set up the course like that, and I wouldn't be surprised if a lawsuit was forthcoming...

    Are you kidding me???

How is the Enzo not iconic in the same way, if not more so, than the 288, F40, and F50???

If you don't care for the styling than that's your opinion. But I, and many others think it looks MUCH better than the others... it was even dedicated to their founder himself by the factory...

20 years from now, Enzo's will be much more valuable and sought after than the other supercars I think...

    Just watched the movie. Damn!!
Would have liked to see the look on the photographer's face standing just behind the barrier during the crash.

This is ridiculous. That man was set up for failure. The track looked set up like a ghetto SCCA Solo2 parking lot autocross. A barrier is placed literally FEET away from the "track". ALL THIS IN AN F-ING ENZO. There's no room for error, a half second too long on the gas, maybe a few millimeters too much on the throttle, and you're done. I honestly don't think I would have done any better. I shudder to think that some of the people commenting on this thread wouldn't even know what to do in an Enzo, let alone get it around on a track.

If anyone was interested in the CGT from that movie, here is one of the three for sale. This one was the one not demolished.

    http://www.matthews-auto.com/PostNuke/index.php?module=InventoryList&func=viewcardetails&inventoryID=192

It is a Carrera GT in Houston used for a movie shoot. Save some big bucks here for what looks like "minor" damage.

Plus it is a "movie star" in the upcoming movie Redline!

    UPDATE: SOLD for $254K

....well, what does anyone expect? You give a high performance car to a low performance driver and you end up with the obvious conclusion.... The real idiot is the owner of the car who should have known better...
