I had a PPI done at Lake Forest dealership July 3rd on a TR I wanted to buy. The mechanic (an old hand there by all accounts) told me this one while we were doing the compression and leakdown: he got to work on an Enzo the week before.

Seems that the owner kind of noticed that somehow it was "not running quite right".

What he found was that the fuel pump on one whole bank of cylinders was out and it was really "running not quite right" on just six...

I swear that I did not make this one up,

    James

I may not be an engine specialist either, but shouldn't there be only one fuel pump? not two? you know, in the fuel line after the gas tank and way before the engine? i think whoever had that enzo just got shafted.

F40's have two fuel pumps, one in each fuel tank.

The Wynn delaership in Vegas has/had an Enzo in for service, and it needs a new steering rack. The only problem - there are none in existance, as all the spares Ferrari had have been used.

Call me crazy, but I bet Ferrari could "find" one somewhere if they really wanted to. It may cost a ton, but I am sure it could be made.

Sounds like someone is gonna have to go to war with Ferrari to get a new rack.

Mostly all ferrai's V12 from the modern era use 2 fuel pumps, one for each bank of cylinders. Even BMW in their old 850's and 750's used this setup.

They even go as far as having 2 ecu's one for each 6 cylinders, in fact you coud drive around using just 6 cylinders and the negine would still feel smooth, just not strong.

    Just my .2 cents

I actually hear that the rack is going to be shipped to the original maker of the steeriong racks for the Enzos (some company in Italy, not Ferrari) to have it rebuilt.

Also, it's crazy sounding, but it should take 20 hours just to take the rack out of the Enzo - has to be accessed through the interior of the car, as its inside the tub...

Looking at the diagram of the fuel pumps..I could swear they are Audi units as used in the A8.
