    I did a search on the various exhaust systems, and it seems that the Ferrari Racing exhaust system sold on Ebay is a good deal especially if you are looking for valves to control the noise level. Here are several questions that I have;

    -Do I have to use the ECUs that come with some of the systems (my car is a 03 360 Modena)
    -If I don't get the ECUs will I get a CEL
    -Under 4-6,000 RPM is it similar to stock as far as noise level
    -Do I have to remove the bumper to install
    -Does anybody not like the exhaust system

    I am looking for an exhaust system that has some attitude, but will not give me a migraine if I take the car on a 4 hour trip.

    Thanks for any help!!!

    Dont have to use ecu, you will not get an engine light eitherway. With valves operational its slightly louder than stock but no drone and just enough sound that you know you have an optional exhaust.

    It was too quite for me so I disconnected the valves to run open at all times. This way you get louder but a little less refined sound under 3k rpm.

    In either configuration you will find yourself using much more of the tachometer cause tapping into that glorious sound becomes addictive. I usually put putted around with stock exhaust ... not anymore

    Thanks for the response. Did you do anything with the CATS? How hard was it to install?

    +1.. Great system.. You do find yourself tapping into the rpm's.. Went out yesterday - really nice day.. Its was nuts.. I felt like I was a kid - blazing up and down the highway..

    Rear bumper does need to come off.. No CEL.. I think you'll leave your cats in after you hear the system.. I am big on test pipes and I was almost certain that I was going that direction but after I heard the system.. Its perfect.. I mean really perfect.. She sounds like a Stradale.. Go for it.. You will not be sorry.. The only thing that will be different is that your going to find yourself wanting to take her out more and more.. You'll be taking you're b*tch to the pharmacy.. lol.. you'll see.. What will you be getting at the pharmacy.. Asperin for the wife/girlfriend.. if they come along for the ride they will get ignored the whole trip.. lol.. because you will be one on one with the car.. Tell her to bring a book.. some asperin (that you happen to get at the pharmacy) and a bottle of water.. Blast off..

    Im not touching the cats. Iv modded the crap out of previous cars and am way over that. Now I just tweek it a little to address the shortcomings like the sewing machine sounding exhaust.

    My mod list for this car is cs tcu and exhaust. Rear grille and cs wheels might be only other things id consider down the road if I don't get a 430/458

    Install is a days work (40m to 2hrs for pro, 3-6 hours for shade tree first timers)but its not complicated. Very straight forward. Bumper removal is far easier than trying to install exhaust with it on. Id only attempt the bumper on method if I had a lift and 2-3 installs under my belt.

    When you pull bumper after you take out screws, just remember the orientation of mounting brackets and which one is left vs right.

    I just had this exhaust installed on my 2003 Modena and it really is awesome. As described above it makes you want to stay up in the higher rpm's to hear the car scream.

    So what is the purpose of the new ecu's and what does FNA do to them when the dealer ships them out before install? My local dealer gave such a great deal I had them install it. Thanks.
