A Ferrari 360 Modena crashed in Korea, and both the driver and the passenger were killed. R.I.P... According to the news, it was on April 27th, near the Inchon Int'l Airport around midnight, the car hit the center divider, lost control, and caught on fire. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Yeah, there are tons of Ferrari's in Korea these days. Also a bunch of other exotics, including Lambos, Porsches, etc. It kinda depends on which area, but if you go to right places, you'll see tons of them. http://findauto.auto.yahoo.co.kr/ManiaClub/ManiaList.asp?BoardCode=2 Some of the pictures on that forum are pretty stupid (common factory press photos) but some are fun to look at.
So many exotic cars you can see around Apkujung Dong area, in Seoul. The price of exotic cars are so high, even Honda accord is like $50,000... hehe oh, thanks for the pictures....
Oh, that's a sad one for the occupants & car, totally charred. Very sad to see. RIP. Nice pictures, didn't know there can be so many supercars registered in Seoul. SLR, Carrera GT, Enzos etc.
Yeah, and another thing is the cost of maintainance.... I think it usually costs about 70%-90% more to own and operate a Ferrari (and other exotics)than in U.S., but people do still buy them. Since the streets of Seoul are so packed, you'll never go beyond the 2nd gear though.
wow, I thought U.S maintainance for Ferrari was very expensive!!! Haha even if I own any exotic cars in Korea, I'm not sure If i can trust the mechanics...lolz... By the way, nice pictures on your website!!! I'm korean as well as you can see... Hope to see you sometimes at CC!!!
Yeah, let's get together sometime at CC or after CC. Are you from the Apkujung Dong area originally? I lived there until I was 14 (Hyundai APT 75-dong). Considering the age, if you lived there, we went to school together?
I was told by a colleague years ago that any foreign cars in Korea are charged a tax about equal to the cost of the car. So that's double the sticker of the Enzo to own one! Let alone maintain one.
Hi pat, I'm from Non hyung Dong area...Right after I graduated from 학동초등학교 i moved to hawaii at age 12.... How often do you attend CC?? LEt me know next time you go.... see ya!! take care
Got some nice cars there, it really sucks having high import duties but I think its one advantage is that it makes the cars that much more exotic! Its the same story in Turkey, we have %110 tax. However some cars get it worse, for instance a Carrera GT is quoted at 1,000,000 EUROs. SLR is 815,000 Euros and a F430 is 322,000 EUROs. Maybach 62 is 1.1 million dollars (i actually know a guy from a family who owns one ) How are the prices in Korea?
Yeah, tax is almost 100% on some cars. It was the case about 15 years ago, and since then it started go down a little by little.....
I think the price (after tax) is a bit lower (about 10-15%) but still up there. Yeah, the maintanence is ridiculous, too. One of my cars in the U.S. is, 2000 Chevy Camaro Z28. I think it goes for around USD$60,000 in Korea, and some of my old friends in Korea are so jealous that I paid about half of that here.
