    outrun mode (original, just racing)

    heart attack mode

    Time Attack Mode
    Select this mode to compete for the best time.

    Why is it that there are so many Ferraris on the X-BOX but not one on the PS2?

    Licensing the brand for a video game is always tricky. Each marque wants to be represented better than the others. Plus lots of money is involved. Gran Turismo3 was biased towards Japanese sports cars.. even Porsche didnt license the name for the game it was RUF who licensed the aftermarket models.

    Do the makers of gran turismo have to get permission for the cars they use in the game?

    correct me if im wrong but i think its not like ferrari or othere exotic brands doesnt want be in granturismo games...
    its all about who has the rights to use them in their game. I read somewhere that lamborghini wanted to be in the granturismo game but due to its agreement with other games it wasnt possible.

    Porsche didn't license GT3 due to the fact that at the time the Need For Speed franchise had the exclusive rights to Porsche on the PC and the PS/PS2. The Xbox may simply be completely seperate from those and hence why PGR has a plethora of Porsches running around. Also, Ruf licensed Ruf models ;) Remember if you buy them straight from Ruf they're registered as a Ruf, not a Porsche, by the DMV :D

    they better used Koenig or Zagatto, then we had some ferrari cars in PS2

    I agree... there should be more PS 2 games with Ferrari's in it...

    BTW... it isn't true there aren't PS 2 games with Ferrari's yet... PS 2 got the Need For Speed series where various Ferrari's in appeared already... and of course the Ferrari F355 Challenge game... Very nice... but indeed... not the same quality as Gran Turismo and Project Gotham...

    Hopefully we'll get another PS 2 game with Ferrari's soon... It won't be Gran Turismo 4 however... :(

    Dont be so sure. Its a FAR, FAR shot, but it may work out like this:

    EA's liscence for Ferrari cars expires in mid november, by which time GT4 will not be released. If Polyphony digital already has the data for some Ferraris all sorted to be playable in GT4, all they have to do is postpone the release of the game until they have Ferrari sell them their liscences.

    This is all just rumor and speculation, but its definately possible. Im crossing ym sregnif.

    After all, in GT3, us PS2 owners got a Lamborghini (Technically a NOMAD racer), a Ferrari engine in the Lancia Stratos, and a 911 GT3. You just had to cheat to get them, sadly.

    Im pretty sure no Ferrari, Porsche, Lambo in GT4, but i havent checked in a while. Im sure i will be content with 500 cars or whatever the ammount is.

    Porsche will be in, including all the 996 models (at least the coupes, but the Turbos, GT3s and GT2s and whatnot) and Ferrari has (knowingly, so far) the CS, 355, and 348TS. Definitely more to come, I expect a major model (Enzo, F40, F50 or 288) a V12 (575, 550, or 612) and some more V8s (328, 308, 360). Also Forza Motorsport (another Xbox exclusive!) has Ferraris. I think MS has the rights, which explains why so many MS-published games have Ferraris in them while few others do.
