How does this maniac get a $1,500 dollar bail. I have had friends arrested for much less that had to post that much. I hope this ****** gets what is coming to him. How do you get angry over how much you paid for a car and take it out on the dealer?

Might want to find new friends.

The guy probably owns a house or a business so the judge felt his flight risk was low. If you have a $200,000 asset like a piece of real estate your chances of abandoning it are low. They can make it so you cannot sell the asset until after the trial is over. If the guy who pulled this stunt had zero net worth he would have seen a $500,000 bail request.

They should make him pay for that GT and all the other damage. If he didn't like the price he should not have bought the car. The escape seems overpriced to me I like them but the prices are just to high for them. We had three guys in their early twenties here stealing BMWs from a dealer here when the cops showed up one of the idiots ran his bmw into an IHOP restaurant!

I wonder where they get their stats....250 Heritage GTs at $150k MSRP....I know most people don't care, but little things like that get me, I wish they would get numbers straight.

but...back to the topic at hand, what a nut. He should join the ELF group that likes burning dealerships down.

"Gerald Georgettis, a performance art theatre manager for the City of Miami, has been charged with arson after he apparently snapped..."

"performance art" = loony tunes, unable to distinguish between mime and reality

I bet he found out what a real POS he bought, or he was haveing trouble with the car and the dealer could not or would not fix it under warrenty, so he drove it through the window. I guy did the same thing with a Ferrari. Drove it through the dealership window and beat the snot out of the car with a baseball bat, and left.

People can get pretty mad if they feel they have been slighted. This guy went a little far, but sometimes it take somthing like that to get peoples attention.

Another nail in the coffin for Ford..

oh..I did indeed read the article..It really doesn't say much of anything in regards as to why he did what he did. It only says something about the price of the car.

I'm basicly just saying this is not the first time this has happend to a new or used car dealership. I know personaly a person who has done this, and also has knocked out a few car salesmen because of snakie behavoiur. Needless to say, that car salesman is as straight as they come now.

An arson investigator said “He came here last night and purchased a new vehicle, and he was not satisfied with the final number, the final agreement.”

Police investigators say Georgettis went home, and returned Saturday to try to run the numbers again. Apparently, according to Miami-Dade Arson Investigator Alfonso Najera, he did not like what he heard. “He still was not satisfied, and he decided to drive his new vehicle through the windows of the showroom. Then, he doused gasoline or some kind of flammable fluid, and he set it on fire.”

on TV last night? Seems some nutcase with a beef with his local Ford dealer somewhere in south Florida (Miami?), crashed his Ford SUV thru the doors of the dealership's showroom and then set fire to his car. The ensuing fire consumed a beautiful new Ford GT painted in the classic light blue and orange livery of the Gulf-John Wyer cars. Made me wanna cry!

"Georgettis is charged with first-degree arson and a felony criminal mischief. He posted a $1,500 bond. "

Over $1 Million in damage and all he had to post was $1500 bucks? something seems wrong with the regulations...

Keep in mind the dealership didn't own those unsold cars, they were floorplanned from Ford. Just another kick in the ass for them, the only positive result maybe a svery l ight increase in GT collector value, there is now one less in the world. As for the building, most likely the Bank owns that. I don't care how big or small a car dealership is, most of them never used there own money, just everyone elses.

Yeah, he is somwhere in your hood....Dead it turns out. The nut got a plane ticket, boarded a flight, then went into the bathroom on the plane and hung himself. Wow.
