Hello everyone, I've been pretty quiet on this forum in the past year -- lots of stuff going on professionally. It has culminated with the fact that I am moving to Boston from DC to a house that has no parking for the 348. Can't even park it on the street since they have some crazy laws about street parking...So as much as I hate it, I think I'll have to sell it. What is a fair price do you think? 1990 T/S with 43K miles, red/tan Tubi/Hyperflows -- sounds like a dream -- I love red lining it under the kennedy center 355 wheels, some upgrades like carbon sills, ss lip spoiler etc Major service with full head teardown at competizione Sept 2007 $17K bill New clutch, Hill engineering throwout bearing at competizione etc etc Spring 2010 $6K bill Looks great and runs great Any ideas where I should start? I'm not in a huge hurry, but I'd like to sell it by March of next year, so pricing it right to move is attractive. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yeh, you should start be selling your 355 wheels to me! Not sure you'll sell it for a higher price with them on.... Beautiful looking car. I hope you get every pennies worth, not that I know what that is anymore.
LOL -- nice try. My original 348 wheels are now on some Fchat's mondial owner as an upgrade to the mondial, so the 355 wheels are all I have. Forgot to mention it has hyperflows, that was part of the 17K bill.
Eric, sorry to hear you're gonna let 'er go. If I didn't already have the spider, I'd seriously consider buying yours back. Gorgeous car! For comparison, there's a red/tan 348ts for sale here in Dallas (local trade-in), priced at $34k. 26k miles, no records, needs a major. Has stock exhaust, stock wheels, original paint with the black spoilers and rockers, black targa top, etc. The next owner of that car will be in it for $40K without replacing the wheels and exhaust...
Even if you did have a chance to park the 348 on the streets of Boston, forget it. It would be trashed in a matter of weeks by the meatheads that drive there. Trust me I know. PM me and I can help you get some space outside the city. Ciao ! and enjoy 7 months of winter, bad drivers, and people that can't speak. Other than that it is a great place!
You don't necessarily have to keep the car at home. You could rent a storage garage at a facility outside of the city of Boston! I had a quick look online doing a Google search for "Boston car storage" and came across a couple of lockable private self-store options (10'x20'x8') for cars in about the $300 range per month. Do you think ~$3,600 a year extra on parking is worth it for you to be able to keep your Ferrari 348? All the best, Andrew.
it's tempting... but honestly, I'd drive it twice a year if it was off in a self-storage unit somewhere....
I'm not sure if you have seen this but here is a link to a lift that might allow you to park both cars in one garage http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=213966&highlight=post+lift. It just came up on the NC/SC link. I am in the process of getting my garage ready for one. The price is about a half years rent.
I'd love to make a lift work, but I don't have that kind of height. It is a sunken in garage and there is not a lot of room to work in. I'm guessing 8'.... all my research on lifts tells me you need close to 10' to put a daily driver in there
8 feet will get you 2 ferraris one on top of the other. it would not fit a ferrari and a normal Lexus car. I know that for sure.
