Saw the car on Sunday—absolutely spectacular! Congrats!

 

I got my copy today too. What a great article. Kudos to your family Brian. It is a better story than Hollywood could have written.

 

I NEVER get my copies until days after you guys do. Sucks. Anyway, congrats ADM from a fellow sailor (LCDR) !

I alerted my father to this thread, and he sent me the following message to post here re: the great support we have received from the Mid-Atlantic Ferrari community over the years:

"Thanks to all the Ferrarichatters who have posted words of encouragement and kudos over the past several years. The targeted end result of the project was to bring the little blue car back to as close to original as we could, and when I look at it today I am still awed by the outcome, and apparently ten of the best FCA Concours judges agree that it is a 100 point car. I think Stan summed it up the best when he said I had it all, including my testa rossa. (He did leave off Bryan and Elizabeth who have given us two precious grandsons.) In some ways I am a little saddened by having finished the job, for seeing and working on the intricacies of that jewel of a motor and the innards of the non-synchromesh limited slip transaxle has been a true pleasure for me. I do plan on competing in two more big Concours events, the FCA National and the Milwaukee Masterpiece), after which I will probably go to shows in the “display” category. I am not certain what to do with all the bling from the past four shows. Anytime any of you see me and the car, feel free to ask questions, and be prepared to hear out an old sailor and his car sea stories. Who knows, some of them may be true!

it was a pleasure meeting you, the Admiral and the Mondial last year at FOW. Congratulations on a perfect job done on a perfect car. Please tell the Admiral to keep up the storytelling as there is nothing better than hearing it from the direct source vs. reading about it in a publication.
