Another hot rod 308

I bought this 1983 q.v. a couple of months ago , it originally had a TwinTurbo prancing horse kit in it I’m going to change the turbos to Garrett GT 25s outfitted with a nicks Forza supplied EFI and also the ignition system. I like the look of the painted louvers in earlier cars in the front So I’m painting those body color .I also love the look of the earlier Aluminum color dashboard and the Vttaloni side mirrors. I am also using all red tail lights in the rear the American style bumpers have been taken off and I put on fiberglass euro style ones on , I also changed the front lights in the bumper from Amber to white and I am using LED bulbs on all turn signals. I also got rid of the giant ugly Thermo nuclear reactor and diaper on the back of the car and will be using a euro rear lower valance and also will be painting the wind shield area A pillars and above the windshield surround body color and the targa top body color and as you can see in the pictures I have already modified the side rear louvers to reflect that of the GTB

I will take better pictures of what I did yesterday to show you . I could probably do a set for you but it took me a very long time, but if you’re a do it yourself guy you could learn from the pictures that I took and just do them, it’s not hard but you have to know what your doing a bit

 

Mock up turbos for fit.The car will get real garret gt25’s, but this is the same turbo dimensionally

In these pictures you can see the process that I did . The louvers had a bow in them and didn’t match the body line on the bottom which is why I had to rivet in a small aluminum piece to keep it straight like the body is . I then cut out the unwanted louvers and filed the nubs down sanded etc. , on the bottom I used a sliver of that red fiberglass and glued it to the bottom of the louver with the polyurethane adhesive. I cleaned it up and sanded it a bit and then coated it an epoxy primer and then did very fine bodywork with filler etc. and then sprayed it with high build urethane ,wet sanded it with 600 and painted it with that Eastwood black hope this helps
