Below are some pictures (I hope) of a car that I was told is getting new carpets and will soon be posted for sale. I would like your opinions and any useful info you care to add on the following: First of all the rear grill. Also the steering wheel and what to me looks like knurled aluminum knobs on the wiper stalk etc. The engine compartment, does anything stand out as being not right. I know it's just a picture of the engine. And the seats, and it's general appearance overall. I was told drivers seat was recently redyed. Also the indentation to the right of the center vents.

on top of what you mentioned...
looks like all the buttons are missing in the center console in front of the stick shift

cluster bezels are not original to the car nor is the steering wheel......also theres a sticker or something over the glass on the instrument cluster.

    Other than that looks good...

I didn't notice the missing buttons, that's not good. What are they for?

    Interior door locking
    Interior door unlocking
Dome light switch (On some cars this button is an unused blank button that does nothing)
    Fuel flap opening button

The rear grill is known as a LeMans grill made by a member on here called Husker. Some people like them and some do not, it's a personal choice thing.

The tail on the cavallino badge on the rear grill is bent towards the neck (it should be more upright).

The air vents look like they need de-stickying (and the decals are missing off the centre vents which could mean that someone has already de-stickyed that vent).

The indentation on the glovebox lid is non-standard and a bit strange.

The aluminium knobs are an after-market cap that fits over the top of the original knobs and the gauge bezels are aftermarket too (superformance sell them).

The carbon fibre/carbon fibre effect panel ahead of the gearlever looks like it's been damaged around the lights above the top four buttons, and the hole just behind the gearlever is non standard.

The drivers headrest looks to be a little bit misshapen on its top section.

There should be a clip retaining the air intake pipe to the exhaust heat-shield on the left hand pipe (It's hard to tell from the picture but it looks as if the right hand side clip is present).

I think you'll find that that is a reflection of the gear lever gate!

    Hope that's of some help.

There's a hole in the console underneath the shifter that shouldn't be there. (in picture 4)

On the engine picture there are only four bolts on each side (where the body holds the engine+wheels), my 1992 TS has six bolts and nearly all 348s I've seen had 6 bolts, not four. Why is that? Is that a european/US thing?

Is there supposed to be insulation on the hood like that?

It was changed to 6 bolt in 1992 I believe . My 91 car has the 4 bolt fitting. There is also a mod to the
frame fitting point on the 92 to accommodate the strut top. Large hole shape plus added bolt
holes. If you have ever done an engine out on a pre 92 you can see why they addressed this.
Refitting can be a pain with the early frame mounting points. I know. Im sure its not US or
    Euro specific.

Center console carbon effect could be an applique, causing the buttons to look low. Judging by the le mans grill damage and lack of intake pipe clip, this car may have had a rear end collision. Indentation on glove box may be from an aftermarket badge. Looks like a Scuderia shield?

The insulation is correct but it is sagging which is common (the glue gives up). Aftermarket shift knob also. Looks good though pictures can be deceiving.

Thank you all very much for the replies, I have learned some things I did not know. Perhaps the most important thing I've learned is, man, I still have a lot to learn. I should have put in my original post that the seller says the car is a 91 with about 33K miles.

The Grill looks like it was scratched. You can pull it off and have it re-painted for a $100 bill.

I'll have to look back at my records, but I think that car sold on eBay not that long ago after being on Fchat for sale. If... and it's a big IF, it had 19" wheels on it. There was a push button start in the cf center console and it had some after market intake(s). If it is the same car, there were no accidents and the PO has the stock rear grill hanging on the wall of his man cave.

    I think it's this one:
    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/ferraris/470672-1991-348-gts.html

    and the sale on eBay:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/1991-Ferrari-348-Targa-/161549678202?nma=true&si=QvX7sG8Sd2I%252Fu1ObjLBOU9zshAY%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Autocheck still available on eBay IF it's the same car.

I attached a picture sent to me from the previous sale IF it's the same car. I made an offer on it which I thought was fair, but the seller didn't agree. It did sell on eBay for more than I offered. PM me for more information IF it's the same car.
