So I am a newbie, been on the 348/355 board for several weeks. Originally looking at 348s, and then the wife likes the look of the 355s better, and then after reading all the nightmare repair, service, and had one PPI fail on a purchase I am starting to look at 360s....

    Here are some questions:

(1). How many manual made vs F1 on the total 17000 production units?

(2). Why are there so few manual 360s out there?

(3). Is the manual 360 considered as a redheaded stepchild? Are all the 360 buyers looking at F1s instead?

(4). Is there a year 360 that I should start with, or the 99s are ok also? (After the pulley tension update?)

My highest budget is $120k, I want Red, don't matter the color of the interior, manual trans, don't care about miles as long there is paper to back it up.

    TIA

Hello, Funny, you and I are looking for the same car, except I want tan interior. and under 15,000 miles. I just posted almost the same question a few before you. Keep in touch on what you find out about the 360 and I will do the same.

Funny... and I thought I was a weirdo... LOL!

Can you post a link to the post that you made, maybe I can just find the answers in there.

    Thanks

    Welcome to f-chat! :)

You should be able to pick up year 2000 with your budget. Make sure all the campaign (cam variator, etc.) has been done. 6-speed is definitely rare.

Keep us posted with your quest.

Hello, welcome to the 360 section..

Selling both manual and F1 I find that infact manual being so much rarer then the F1 sell faster and for around the same amount!

The thing to really look at are the services, I had a 20k fully serviced 360, MY00 that sold for over $120k...last month!

Hey Ron! Man, I guess I can't hide anywhere... LOL!

I can't remember if you made it to my BBQ party last year.... If memory serves me right you missed it. I would really like to have a F-car in my driveway for this year's BBQ party. :p

    Thanks

    Hi Jim,

Long time no see, good to hear from you.

I read your post from Rennlist, also about 50 other ones from everywhere else talking me out of buying a F355. In addition, I ignored everyone's recommendation and went ahead and bought a F355 and ended up hearing the bad news about low compression from PPI, and gave verbal ok to purchase another F355, but after an entire sleepless night thinking about my decision, I canceled the order....

I felt that I had pushed my luck a little more than I needed to, so now I am taking a recommendation made to me when I first starting looking for a Ferrari by a good friend who currently owns a 360 CS.

When I first told him that I wanted to buy a Ferrari all he said to me was :

"If you can't afford a 360 then don't buy one"

Robin, I have a 2000 360 that I have had for about 10 months and like the others on the board, have had no issues with it. I love the car and it is far and away more of a sports car experience that my 97 C2S. Having said that I still have the C2S. :) I have a 430 on order that should be here in november but I probably should have my head examined. :) the 430 will be cool but 90 grand worth of cool? Of course none of this makes any sense. But, if you can do it.

Hey Robin, I bought a set of RSR mufflers back in the day :)

For those of you who don't know, Robin is an incredible resource in the 993 P-car community. I too hope you get a 360 and create a DIY page!

So....how many rennlister are lurking here on Fchat?

Looks like many 993 owners have "graduated" and moved on to F-cars now.

Yes, I remeber! I hope I will be able to find a 360 soon too! There are several non red manual 360s out there. But so far I have not been able to talk myself out of a red one. After all my first Ferrari is got to be a red head.

I am starting to find out that there are definitely bunch of ex-rennlistners on here, I like to call this progress. LOL!

I too was looking for a 6-speed 360. I'm taking delivery of a 2000 6-speed this weekend. Hopefully, you'll join the party soon!
