Both my 308's have embossed horses. Both original.
Hey Jon, I stand corrected and re-educated! Over the years I've looked at hundreds of 308s at shows and gatherings and saw few horsies on their headrests so it must be the 328s that first came with them. When I say I'm not an originalty type that's just kind of a recognition that my QV is a decent driver as opposed to a beautiful show car like your 328 was (and still is I hope) but I definately appreciate originality and hate to see some of the hot rodding that appears occasionally on this site. By the way, any announcement yet about your latest car? Did I miss that thread or are we still in suspense?
Rest assured, Jon's former 328 is still in as spectacular condition as it was when he owned it. Unfortunately, since we got a foot of snow this past weekend, it is now officially tucked away until spring. Also, Steve, your interior looks awesome! Nice work.
You did correct in keeping the vinyl where it belongs, dash and arm rests. Most of the glare on the dash is from treatments, just dust it off and you won't have any!!
What treatments are you referring to? Vinyl conditioners like armor all? My glare problem is significant. I purchased my car only acouple months ago and haven't treated the vinyl but it is dusted. Thanks
That's what I meant...... Try to let it dry out (this can cause fogging of the glass INSIDE, too) and just let it develope a lower gloss to it. I'm not denying there's some wierd highlights, and glare at night.....distinct to the car, you get used to them... I'm reminded of a quote I had for a long time, of Piero's: "We were testing at night, and Enzo was driving quite fast, but the light was always reflecting from behind us, he finally asked: "Look who is able to follow us so long, so closely?" "I turned to find the reflections were from the moon, shining on us from above." .......ao there ya go, recall that, as you look thru them next time...
Thanks, Mine is bad when I'm driving into the sun and only from the instrument cluster cover. My neighbor is making me a dull black cover and I think it will help on the bad days and otherwise I can tuck it away. I'll try the rain-x and anti fog too. Cheers
Outstanding results on the interior re-do.... Does anyone know if there is anyone on the east coast that can do this? Preferably in the Mid-Atlantic/Washington DC area? I've been wanting to have mine done as well... Scott '85 Ferrari 308 '71 DeTomaso Pantera
That looks fantastic. Do you have a before pix? I'm contemplating doing this, but my interior is pseudo-para-quasi-ok. Basically sometimes I'm good with it, and sometimes it really bugs me. All of those seat panels were re-cut from scratch? No pre-cut stuff? Beautiful!!
Matching headliner and rear shelf (to match the burgundy red leather of the seats) is my next project. Can anyone here recommend someone in Colorado?
As does my 82. . . I believe it was original beginning at least with the "i" series 308s, possibly even earlier.
