My neighbor, same one I asked a question for a few months ago regarding his Lexus RX330 steering wheel locking problem has a new oddity. He has a 2003 Infiniti G35 Sedan with 86K on the odometer. When the car reaches 45 mph there is a mild humming noise that can be heard from the drivers side wheel. It increases moderately with a slight turn of the steering wheel to the right. I drove his car tonight to see what he was talking about and there is definitely an increase at 45 mph with a slight turn to the right. The humming/vibration reduces when the steering wheel is back to a straight position. You are able to feel the vibration through the gas pedal and floorboard as well as hear it.

He has had it to a local independent shop and they replaced the drivers side front wheel bearing which did not fix the problem. They told him they checked everything else out and all was good.

Any thoughts on where to look next for the cause of this problem?

Wheel bearing, not a warped rotor, unless the brakes vibrate during higher speed stops.

What are the odds the replaced wheel bearing is bad also? He had the drivers side wheel bearing replaced and the problem still exists. Could it be the passenger side wheel bearing causing symptoms that are heard on the drivers side? He is a little hesitant to take it back to the same shop and waste more time to not have it fixed correctly.
