With a ‘Qui bono?’ sticking out like a mile I’m astonished it took the cops (or the insurance company) so long to look into the poor guy’s death.

It’s an unusual case - there aren’t that may murders-by-poison in America because poisoners are custodial killers, they hang around and physically care for to the people they are killing, they don’t just lose the cool and use a knife or a gun, which is the national norm. It takes a pretty cold and sick puppy to murder a spouse with poison. Furthermore arsenic is one of the metallics you can build up a resistance to - it would be interesting to see from a hair sample if the husband had been dosed before with smaller amounts.......

Looking down the line, if she does end up in California, and is given the death sentence, and is executed with a lethal injection, she will in fact have killed herself with the poison she gave her husband.
