Sorry to hear mate. Is that 5 of your friends, or just guys you knew and went to school with? Were they all accidents? Or drugs?

It doesn't get any easier, the older you get the more you see it.
I'm 48, and we have to look at the obits in the paper every day now, because we usually see someone or a parent of someone we know about once a week now.

Young people are not supposed to die, but they do.
It's hard to get over it, but somehow, we do..

Sorry to hear about your friend. Were all 5 friends? That's an awful lot of friends to lose in 7 months. Best wishes in getting through this.

I wouldn't call any best friends, but 2 i hung out with on a semi regular basis. Of the other 3, one was an older bro of a friend, one was a friend of my brother and the last i knew through years of athletics and interacted at competitions.

1 was an OD, one was cancer, one was a car accident, one was homicide, the last is still being investigated but sounds like an OD

It sickens me to hear this, i mean these were all such bright promising individuals.

i graduated hs with a kid who was as bright as they came. made a fortune in the stock market before he was even 18, 4.0 straight through hs, hugely popular, all around nice guy, went to cornell. he had a bright future ahead of him, but one night he went to visit a friend from high school at another college, got drunk, passed out in a room alone, no one checked on him, and never woke up again. it made huge news, simply because someone started a blog based on his facebook profile. i was never friends with him, saw him at a couple of parties, said hey, that was about the extent of our friendship though. it's sad to see people waste their lives away with poor choices. that was the second from my class to die, the first was i think in my sophomore year, maybe junior year, from cancer. it's a sad way to go.

I'm really sorry to hear that.

I'm glad I haven't had any loss of my close friends. Its really hard to lose a friend especially if you're best friends with that person because you have treaten them as a part of your family.

Sorry man. I remember losing a friend a little more than 1 year after graduating high school. It was a tough time. Everytime August comes around, Nick's in my mind the whole month.

We weren't great friends, but good enough that he left a hole in my heart.
