Great pictures, thanks for posting them. Question: Did they have photographers at various places taking photos of your car, whereas you could obtain disc of photos at the end?
Can we please use the correct title of these cars, ie. 599GTO. I was expecting to see a real GTO ... sigh, another reason why they should never have called this excellent car anything to do with the letters GTO. Now I've lost 5 minutes I cannot get back ... Pete
Even two more given the fact that you've responded to this thread You're in the 599 section, that would add up the numbers
What a waste of a post.....I cant be bothered to even enter into another debate about the merits of a GTO name and why this car deserves it. Trax, awesome pictures, thanks for sharing with us, its unfortunate that posters like the above feel the need to sprout the same old garbage again.
Great photo's Lars, did you get any of my 599 GTO car 617? if so I would love to see them. Cheers Carl
For me it was the first time I visited the Mille Miglia and it was awesome. The Ferrari Tribute was a very nice addition to the Mille Miglia. 7 F40's and 17 599 GTO's....amazing!! I have made more then 1400 pics and I want to share some 599 GTO-shots with you. The rest you can find at my website. Thanks for the ones who were participating and let us enjoy! Will continue to happen for the rest of your lives ... sorry, not my fault, I didn't name the car. Enjoy your 599GTO's road cars. Pete
Don´t lurk the 612/599 posts, that will solve your problems! IMO, the 599 GTO is the best that happened since the 360 CS, & these cars can be driven.......
... and yet you continue to refer to the car by the wrong name. It's not called a 599GTO ... it's called a 599 GTO. No, you didn't "name the car" ... but you did erroneously "rename" the car The space between "599" and "GTO" is present on the factory documentation (window sticker, Ferrari web page, etc) ... and the owner's manual refers to this vehicle, correctly, as simply "GTO". Let's remember that the second generation GTO already differed from the first, in that the "O" addition to the "GT" moniker was NOT added by the sanctioning body in the second generation, as it was in the first (in accordance with strict definition of homologation). With the 288 GTO, Ferrari already established "GTO" as a factory-only moniker, to be used at Ferrari's sole discretion ... requiring no sanctioning body to homologate. NO ... strictly speaking, "GTO" does NOT mean "designed for racing". It's original meaning was "GT car APPROVED for racing by the sanctioning body that governs the series". This meaning was already abandoned by the second generation. So ... we get that you disagree with the factory (the same one that named the 288 GTO), and every owner, and driver, who has actually experienced the car. But your opinion is, quite frankly, irrelevant. Ferrari decided to call the car "GTO", just as they did in the last generation ... case closed.
Hi Carl, I only just noted your post. The pics in this thread are not mine, I only took pics in Buonconvento & Maranello. But I´ll gladly send these to you tomorrow. Ciao, Lars T.
Douglas, thank you very much for posting these pictures and sharing these with us. I didn't lose 5 minutes but gained a very enjoyable 10 minutes looking at them (hint hint to Pete ) You are a lucky man to have had this experience in the GTO and I wished I would have had the time this year to attend in mine. I'll try to be there next year and already look forward to it. Thanks again for posting. Cheers, M Honestly, do you feel better now?
It would take me forever to post them here but there are lots more photos here http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=63&t=1004926&mid=53177&nmt=Some+pictures+of+my+GTO+in+Italy+last+week
