...that seat bolster looks awfully tired for a car with only 11K miles :)

I am skeptical of the recorded mileage on our cars. From time to time I have looked down at my speedometer and have seen that the odometer is not turning over, even though the speedometer is working. It appears to me that these instruments are electronic; there is no cable attached to the back. So an intermittent disconnection or other electrical malfunction will affect the recorded mileage.

An additional reason for my skepticism is that my odometer shows about 50,000 km (30,000 miles), which qualifies as a very low mileage car in my book. Yet the rubber coverings on the accelerator pedal and the brake pedal are worn through to the metal. This is a piece of evidence of age I always look for in a used car. I would not expect a 30,000 mile car to have this much wear. My car's driver seat covering is also very worn, including a split in the outboard seat bolster. Another thing I would not expect to see in a 30,000 mile car.
